Try here.

MOTF said in the photo thread he'd be posting pics again when the season starts. Has it started in England yet?

I heard (from MOTF) that Damien B got banned - not sure why ...

We'll miss his pictures here.

Is Damien B Banned from this Forum

MOTF Says in his Shuttleworth 2004 thread that Damian B is banned and cannot post his pictures.

Is this true, or have I got the wrong end of the stick, if it is true, why has this man that has given us so much pleasure with his superb pictures been banned from posting his photos ????????

Peter.

Guess you guys were asleep when DamienB chucked his toys out of the pram in a long post in the early hours of Friday morning (UK) time. Said he was never going to post on Pprune again.
It was a long whinging post complaining about the Mods. The drift was he won't post pictures unless he can use them to promote his photography business and the site owners don't allow folk to advertise for free and they won't make an exception for him, so deadlock.
Prune's the best aviation web site I know, better than anything we've got this side of the pond, and it's FREE. All we're asked to do is keep to the rules. Not much to ask in return.

This is getting creepy.

I did not start a new thread on this subject, I replied to this thread and now that post was'moved' and now has been deleted

Hopefully there will be some enlightening discussion as a result.

I will still miss DamienB's photo skills

It might be worth reading 'Treadigraph's' post on this thread.

Could be that the mods don't like being called w*****s and t*****s! And maybe you don't know the facts. Read Brox's post above - maybe it will throw some light on the subject.

I did not actually call the mods anything but 'train drivers" in the context of PPRuNe being Danny's trainset. I also mentioned that as such, Danny is totally at liberty to do with his trainset as he wishes.

The W & S refered not to the mods but a non advertisement for something called "Wings & Strings".

So much for open and informed discussion about consistancy in moderating standards or for that matter, posting photographs.

Failing that I'll be accused of "sniping"

My apologies - but it could have meant that!

As for Wings and Strings - I seem to remember that they have an ad with PPRuNe.

You guys beat me to it..

Damien brought a breath of fresh air to Pprune. Good quality pictures say a lot. Just looking at them is enough for me, and goes without all the uninformed trash that spouts forth from certain individuals.

Maybe it's because he wasnt one of 'the in-crowd'??

P.S. Has anyone seen how much it costs to personalise your user name?

For pete's sake! Bronx has said it. Just read the rules. They are there at the top of the page. Damien was very good but it it NOT his site to demand special arrangements.

Well I've enjoyed seeing photos on this site and have finally figured out how to post them here - err, well maybe!

So, whilst I have to work in Aviation, I occasionally get out with the camera which is an added bonus.

And I should have said that these were taken at DXB 2003 one of the best airshows to visit. If you want real heat and dust though, go to Avalon although it won't be held until March next year

I do find it mildly ironic that DamienB and others were urged last year on this forum to publish their photos in a book because most of said we would buy it, and now one has gone commercial he is pilliored!

I don't know what DamienB said in his farewell post, didn't see it, but I do know, with the utmost respect to all you other fine photographers, that I will miss his contributions.

And I'd still buy the book! Most of shots from Damian and MOTF are excellent and worth seeing.

Quite agree. The rules are the same for everyone, why should Damien be a special case just because he thinks he should be.

Thanks WG774. Today's offering - should it appear! I quite like it as it demonstrates an X-wind t/o from a damp runway - just can't get the sun in the right spot as it doesn't shine here at 23:00
