[QUOTE=SOPS;10767918]Twiggy is in the mix it seems.
Well, how does one make a small fortune out of aviation...? |

You can rest assured that management bundled at least $30 million for Deloitte plus a million or so for exec team wages into the Captain's lifeboat before scarpering off to leave their trade creditors and landlords on the badly listing Costa YaShirt to fend for themselves. I guess we now have to wait weeks/months till the second creditors' meeting to see how low they ran the cash reserves before entering VA. |

I very much doubt if he gave himself the nickname “ twiggy”. Very much an Australian thing to call someone with the name Forrest “twiggy”. |

good to see tall poppy syndrome is alive and well |
Maybe Twiggy can chum up with a state-owned Chinese airline to buy Virgin Australia. Anybody for 'China Very Southern' or 'Panda Air' ?

What I don’t understand why there is any interest at all? Airlines around the world are laying people and asking for government hand outs. I just can’t see the attraction. |
Maybe that’s why Twiggy is going so crazy about the Australian sentiment towards China at the moment. He’s lined up Chinese money behind a tilt at VA.

it’s okay mate. I’m not rich, so no need to be jealous/bitter/twisted |
His forefather- John Forrest- was the first Premier of WA, so because he’s a young one off the family tree he is just a twig. Get it? Not a difficult concept, like”Junior “ , or “ Taddy”, or the myriad of other nicknames given to younger siblings

Shame it did nothing for your personality!

Back to the topic - there may be an interest by Forrest in VARA and the WA operation, but I can't see the attraction for the complete entity. He's not the sort of guy who would stake an operation without a guaranteed return.
It needs to be remembered that all the so called "interested parties" are just that and they will only be looking at a debt free start up using some of the assets of the carcass. So the debt has to disappear and that can only occur if the company is somehow wound up. No one is going to take a 100% haircut if the losses can be reduced to a lesser value by stopping the cash outflow now. |

I think there is a village somewhere looking for you kiddo. |
