Sore shoulder? Same as Borghetti. Difference is, and I am making an assumption here, the Sunfish sore shoulder is from swinging a club on the 18th hole (I told you that at our age we should only be playing 9 holes) and Borghetti’s sore shoulder is from lifting his wallet every day for 10 years at VA (or from trying to reach up for the coffee cups or pasta in the top cupboard!).

Its good to be the king.

TCAS v2 28th Apr 2020 22:38

Surely Borghetti et al would have well and truly covered their tracks to ensure this "loan" of $ 150 million passed the pub test.

If they didn't and the administrators start investigating, they may well have to face a court somewhere.

I believe the court of public opinion has already delivered their verdict - guilty as charged :suspect:

machtuk 28th Apr 2020 22:45

Be interesting to see just how far down the toilet VA actually are when the Admins dig thru layer upon layer of corporate cover ups?

The Bullwinkle 28th Apr 2020 23:14

Seems like Borghetti’s creative accounting tricks are being revealed.
About bloody time!
I hope they all get revealed and he’s finally held to account for his actions.......

strobes_on 29th Apr 2020 03:09

It would need a court that has the power to prosecute to get Borghetti into the frame for any handywork doing his 10 years at Virgin.

That might be kind of difficult unless it's a criminal action.

No Idea Either 30th Apr 2020 02:07

First creditors meeting over, no challenge to the appointment of Delloittes. Good sign.......

I've never seen so many people in a company appearing so happy about the loss of millions and millions of dollars. Every time I see Scurrah he looks like the cat who just swallowed the canary I just don't get it.

That would be the loyalists, the ones who foolishly believe the Branson’esq style of hoopla and excitement about working for the Virgin brand, helping to be part of a team who want to bring fairness to the average punter and give a budget service to those who have been held ransom to the pricing of the evil Qantas blah blah blah. Branson sales tactics to convince people that he isn’t about the money, he is about giving people a fair go! His BS sales pitch has run its course. Everyone knows he is full of crap. All billionaires are greedy grubs. The only difference is that he screws you with a smile on his face.

PoppaJo 30th Apr 2020 02:41

Now twiggy is talking to consortiums.

Why so much interest in such a financially failed business.

Is it ego and prestige at stake here? ‘I own an airline’ etc...

Des Dimona 30th Apr 2020 02:49

Today was just a formality - the business is a train wreck as long as COVID is around. With limited cash and effectively no income, there isn't much time to sort this out.

Another billionaire who likes to pretend he is in it ‘for the little people’, a supporter of the average Joe. More BS. Twiggy is in it for Twiggy. The way he set up the Government to take a slap from the Chinese Diplomat at a live news conference where a Minister was speaking shows the ego, pride and audacity of these tossers. Anyone who calls themselves ‘Twiggy’ has to be a jackoff. I have more respect for Gina, at least she lets you know she is in it for herself!

Velocity is tied umbilically to Virgin - If Virgin goes under, Velocity is worthless.

That's what he means

The Corporations Act has the option of criminal charges being raised, s184. There’s the civil penalties too s180-183, and if found guilty the option of disqualification under s206.

will ASIC want another scalp to add to it’s collection?

SHVC 30th Apr 2020 04:51

So after this meeting today we all know going to administration seemed to be the best thing to have ever happened seemingly, Will it be a quick fix and ops normal in three months?

SOPS 30th Apr 2020 05:05

I wonder if he'd settle for just VARA? Anyway, after his stunt yesterday, it may be a moot point especially if he needs Govt. approval (ie his Chinese mates jump on board)

Hoosten 30th Apr 2020 05:43

Yeah, I expect that's the case. But he has committed a great deal of his personal wealth to charity and philanthropic causes. He's the best of all those c@#ts.

.

I didn't see the presser but apparently the Chinese dude was very concillatory? If that's the case he can expect to 'disappear' on his return to China.

Anyone who calls themselves ‘Twiggy’ has to be a jackoff.
Haha, lol.

I have more respect for Gina, at least she lets you know she is in it for herself.
She's still a knob.

Well, he's still getting paid something like $4-5,000 a day so there's that.

TWOTBAGS 30th Apr 2020 05:58

A mate of mine previously flew Twiggy's Global...….. left to go work in China...… says the most LOL
