Folks,
In the good old days, QF had a warning system (pre-dated the BA encounter with Mt Galunggung) that not only included all the state sources, but paid a small retainer to locals (usually Ausaid school teachers) to ring ops. in Sydney as soon as there was local volcanic activity. There were examples of aircraft in flight getting warnings within 30 minutes of a local eruption in Indonesia, and hours to days before any "official" notifications. Does this still exist? Or has it been the victim of the vandals currently decimating the "real" Qantas. Tootle pip!! |
Local media are reporting JQ flight PERCGK flew into an 'isolated' patch of ash yesterday?
|
Qantas only do Sydney-Jakarta.
Jestar does Perth-Jakarta and not very often. |
Jqasia do PER- CGK. Jq aus used to, but ran into standard pax weight issues and apparently if the flights done by an Asian carrier they all weigh less
VA was 96 miles from DPS airport when my plan was generated and over 130 when I left. |

Christ some of you lot are dickheads.
1.There are very comprehensive Volcanic Ash policies and Day of Ops protocols at JQ 2. Airline policies can differ due aircraft payload/range capabilities and other day of ops operational reasons for which the majority of us aren't privy 3. JQ is no less safe than Qantas in any respect, so just try for once to get past your pathetic attempts to discredit your professional colleagues and move on to more important things in life. Like having one. |
But aren't QF pilots safer than JQ pilots?

Seems like hysterical reason number 586 as to why Qantas is the only entity in the universe capable of flying airyplains, is disproven.....
Bring on #587- we do enjoy a giggle :ugh: |
Jetstar - What Gives ??
But aren't QF pilots safer than JQ pilots?
I reckon they generally are, and that's not tongue in cheek. |
If they are not flying much then statistically they have to be safer .
|
I say again; many Qantas pilots are doing max hours and the others would do so if the f#%*^}{ up management would "grow" the business,:ugh:
I am home for the last few days only because I am out of hours!:ugh::ugh::ugh: I have been really safe rebuilding my deck!:E |
Your sounding safe . Maybe don't read pprune before you use those power tools on your deck .
