RB according to the announcement it is still up for sale.

Think back 7 years when some smooth guy would walk the hangar floor and say G'day to everyone :)

When people won't even pick up the phone when they know you want to put a $100M plan in place the odds are anything I submit will be deemed "unacceptable".

And I wish that bugger was as good with Corporate as he seemed to be with people who actually do the work. It's an ongoing story, termination for any number of reasons following a period of time actually talking to the workforce. Senior mgt don't like being told certain things in a rather direct fashion so that smooth guy seems to have racked up more than a few "exit interviews"...

Wonder who it will be next?

Ain't that the truth, but you have to make your point at an exit interview. The ‘yes men’ management flunkies don’t want to hear, and are afraid of the truth so they have a tendency to bastardise a competent and honest guy who tells them how and like it is, and maybe he has to call a spade a shovel during the process. The flunkies suffer from the delusion that they will be believed by those above them just because of the so called managerial position that they hold (they have risen to the height of their incompetence), and because they themselves have said so. Real people generally move on to better things, without looking back over their shoulder, and leave those mindless and lacking in integrity d*c*y licking flunkies in their wake. Being marched off the premises normally has no effect on one’s known good reputation, when the truth inevitably comes out.:D :ok:

When does JHAS cease operations?
01 June or 30 June 2014?

emergency000 21st Mar 2014 00:53

Rumour around Melbourne last few days was that JHAS have given notice to their customers they'll cease all operations in 60 days. So, I'd say that puts it at about June 1.

fruitloop 3rd Apr 2014 04:30

"Rumour" has it that 1 of the hangars has already been leased...The new occupants will be moving in "Before" June 1 !!

Torqueman 18th Apr 2014 01:45

What's the latest folks, the count down clock has well and truly commenced.......

fruitloop 25th Apr 2014 07:20

Hmmm....." Rumour" has it that the Goal-posts are to be moved.....Backwards.....For 1 of the Hangars....

aintsaying 27th Apr 2014 06:07

What do you mean?
VA can't afford the lease rates for hangar 145 and bays 4 + 5?

According to an engineer - 3 weeks left: business is wound up and all gone

Hmm. Not the case if you care to look at JHG's asset base..There appears to be "NO" intention to sell. "Long term leases" !!.
It appears that all maintenance providing will be wound up before the end of the financial year....Move the goal posts for those who are still there (admin, quality etc etc).
With the Airports Development plans proceding as fast as they are 2 players need this spot..

Business tycoon Paul Little plans new VIP jet base at Melbourne Airport

Romulus 2nd May 2014 08:50

Hopefully the plan involves saving as many jobs as possible, good luck guys

Melbourne VIP Terminal

CF6JETBLAST 2nd May 2014 09:18

Jhas is due to wind up at the end of May with the transition to the Little Group on the 1st of June.

Some JHAS jobs may be saved with the sale of the Components BU and the FTM BU but still no deals finalised, and none on offer with the Little Group. The only ones who have a hope with the Little Group are the facilities guys.

Virgin have rejected all applications from anyone at JHAS with the exception of a few that got interviews for AME positions. One was a 330 LAME.

In other news Virgin are taking their 330 A Checks to Singapore. First one scheduled on the 26th. We will have to wait and see how long it is, if ever, before they bring them back.... :ugh:

Where is the noise from our Brotherhood ? :=

CAR42ZE 2nd May 2014 20:08

Geez that is ****ty news.

Strange decision by VA to send them all the way across for A checks, guess at the end of the day they couldn't make any other solution work in the short term - especially if they have closed the books on the JHAS employees (and if JHAS are playing silly buggers regarding the facilities and tooling/GSE).

There are probably managers on both sides of the fence beating their chests and trying to come out on top - at the end of the day it's the poor guys on the hangar floor that get the pineapple.

emergency000 3rd May 2014 06:53

I guess with Paul Little snapping up the JHAS site, VA probably don't really have any other options for 330 A checks in Australia? Where have they been doing them before now?

Good luck to Little and the JHAS guys. Let's hope they can make a good go of it and be seen as more than just the plaything/cash cow of a much larger corporate group.

Given Little's ties to Toll Holdings, I wonder if Toll Aviation might put any work into the site as well?

SRM 3rd May 2014 23:01

Maybe the 330's are going to Sin with pax and get there A checks done at the same time.

CF6JETBLAST 4th May 2014 08:48

That's the rumour I am hearing. No matter what spin, it is still more maintenance leaving Aus.... :ugh:

porch monkey 5th May 2014 12:15

There won't be any pax involved.

Torqueman 6th May 2014 09:41

It's not like they have to take it there because of a shortage of engineers here!!
