I think that photo is a testament to just how wrong things can go. A time when all those in 'the know' said props were dead, it's all going to be jets in the future. Hmmmmm

Healthy demand for Fokker aircraft in first half of 2012

A total of 23 Fokker aircraft were placed with existing and 5 new operators during the first half of 2012. This compares with 27 during the first half of 2011 and 33 during the second half of 2011. ‘The slightly smaller number now reflects the lower availability of Fokker aircraft. At the same time it also demonstrates the continued attractiveness of the Fokker aircraft’ according to Fokker Services’ Director of Aircraft Remarketing, Peter van Oostrum.

In Europe Greek startup Minoan Air purchased 4 Fokker 50s, which are being used on ACMI services throughout Europe.

Australian operator Alliance is adding a Fokker 50 to its fleet of 5 Fokker 50s and 20 Fokker 70/100s. The Fokker 50 is leased from Dutch lessor GAFinance.

Australia continues to be a stronghold for Fokker 100s as Network Aviation, a Qantas subsidiary, is adding 5 Fokker 100s to its existing fleet of 7. With this acquisition the total Australian fleet of Fokker 100s and Fokker 70s now stands at 43 aircraft. Most of these aircraft are performing fly-in, fly-out services in the harsh operating environment of Australia’s interior, supporting the booming mining industry.

Latin America continues to be a growing market for Fokker aircraft as Dutch Antilles Express (dae) took on its third Fokker 100 on lease from AeroCentury and Air Panama is phasing in its first 2 Fokker 100s.

Various undisclosed operators have taken on another Fokker 50 and 9 Fokker 100s.

Fokker Services does not sell nor lease Fokker aircraft. Rather, it facilitates placements by sellers and lessors, in addition to providing comprehensive support to Fokker aircraft operators throughout the world. ‘Operational versatility, timely product and service improvements, low capital costs and continued support are the main reasons why operators keep on taking Fokker aircraft’, says Peter van Oostrum. ‘Recent product improvements include a 20 % life extension on the Fokker 50 landing gear and a cost-effective GNSS on the Fokker 100’.

Re the recent advert for F100 FO's, does anyone know what sort of experience levels,realistically, you need to get a call for an interview at this place???
Anyone who has had an interview in past 12mo care to comment please.

No smart A** comments re the operator please.

Aussie, I think it's previous jet experience and preferably F100. They seem to have a healthy pool of non typed jet experienced guys on the books.
Other than that you could go for the E120 jobs, quick promotion to left seat, and when the get rid of them you'd go to the jet anyway ;)

aussie027, I Think they will take anyone they can get. Desperate for crews, hence the minimum hours. Got word they wont be upgrading any Brasilia drivers for at least 12 months because they are short of crews.

They have been taking guys with turboprop hours from skippers. Throw your resume in, see how ya go. Its still just GA with Jets...:ugh:

The rumour I hear is that there desperate for F100 and E120 crews. Massive employment happening on both fleets with lots of low time drivers.Great Opportunities for fast progression to Captainancy. I also have heard that a lot of the experience E120 pilots are moving on to other companies such as skippers and virgin due to the lack of progression onto the F100. :suspect:

Why would they go to Virgin? If they are expecting a 'rapid' progression, then they will be disappointed. I would say at least 8-10 years for a command at VA for anyone joining these days..

OK, I see conflicting info (rumours?) in the above posts.
Some think they have a big stack of CVs on file of suitable jet rated people to choose from for positions on the F100 or Braz and others say they are desperately short of crew and are hiring low timers.
So which is it??

Can anybody else who maybe actually works there or has spoken to someone who does recently directly give an accurate answer to my original Q in a previous post;
“Does anyone know what sort of experience levels, realistically, you need to get a call for an interview at this place???
Anyone who has had an interview in past 12mo care to comment please”.

Aus, spoke to my contact, to the best of his knowledge they are not taking any " low timers " on the jet, he said the so called " low timer " from skippers was 7 years in Brazillian airforce and Dash8 fleet manager at skippers. He can't recall any new hire pilots on the F100, aside from the aforementioned, that didn't have substantial jet time and/or F100 time.
Believe what you will, I guess if they are desperate as suggested above, you'll get a call ?

that means then they are in no way short of applicants with very high time and experience levels for either the F100 or Braz.

I guess less than 3000 odd hours etc wont get a look in then for either type as FO.

One bloke they took on the F100 as FO has 10,000+ hrs, mostly jet.

I got an awesome idea on the hours required and who they will take.
Call the C.P and ask him:ok:. Very approachable and he will tell you directly.
F@#k he rumours and and second hand information just make a simple phone call and it takes 3 minutes. If you want a job then ya gotta own the job first.

Some good advice from veetail.
I would not say your experience is insufficient for the E120, they do seem to have trouble recruiting for that fleet, everyone wants straight onto the jet.
As with most outfits, if you knew anyone there, that would be a great help.

Both. People with the right experience are putting resumes in getting a call doing an interview reading the fine print and going no thanks. Which leaves the lower time guys to take the job.

Have sent in CV every time they advertise for the Braz over several yrs, never heard a thing back.
