What are the T&Cs like at Network for the F100 captains? What sort of experience levels have they been recruiting as DECs?

QFA777 14th Feb 2012 23:35

Certainly no working FK100's sitting around at YPPH yesterday morning!!

The only one not in high rotation is the XR hangar queen parked over on TWA

Skystar320 15th Feb 2012 10:53

QFA777 seems you left your glasses at home

I have seen all of the Network Fokkers flying on that planefinder program, with a few doing some Skywest flights to Cloudbreak.

Icarus2001 9th Mar 2012 06:11

all of the Network Fokkers
Is that ALL meaning TWO?

I heard FNP on the air yesterday.

2bigmellons 9th Mar 2012 09:42

haha Icarus,

Just to keep you in the loop, Network now have the following F100s

NHG, NHO, NHP, NHQ, and NHV.

I've heard the 6th one will be here in a few weeks.

Icarus2001 9th Mar 2012 13:18

mmmm Which ones are in operational flying status?

Transition Layer 9th Mar 2012 14:17

I heard FNP getting around this week as well - non-RVSM..super stuff that.

Skywest bears a lot of similarities to the rest of WA...about 20 or 30 years behind the rest of the country!

hongkongfooey 10th Mar 2012 02:13

Geez Icarus, you really are in the loop, all 5 are in service.

TL :ok:

I was speaking to a friend tonight and was told all bras crew have had their network careers put on hold! No F100 f/o promotions from the bras fleet for a minimum of six months, and if ANY crew leave that will blow out to who knows how long... Nice one Network management, you have just written 50% of your bras crews resignation letters! What a joke :ugh:

Glad to be working for the competition :ok:

They're glad you are too :D

rockapetransport 3rd May 2012 01:19

network are taking turboprop drivers from skippers and putting them on the f100 instead of upgrading internally, what a joke.
Also heard that they are putting direct entry f100 guys on higher terms and conditions than current f100 drivers (got rid of the stand down clause and higher pay, but have to sign a confidentiality agreement.)

I bet company moral is at an all time high...:ugh:

heard there is a few braz guys going to virgin and alliance... that would be interesting for the braz guys if more than 1 leaves... stuck there for life! start sendin out those resumes.

Whats the f100 fo/capt pay compared to everyone else at the airport?

Icarus2001 4th May 2012 01:16

I hear from the refueller that at least two Cobham pilots are heading across to Network.

There is a story around that this is because the OM requires 500 multi crew command hours for the PIC, so Bras FOs are not suitable and putting them in the right seat of the F100 also will not help them get an upgrade, therefore the only other option is external candidates. Do the "turboprop drivers from Skippers" have 500 multi crew command? If so then there is your answer.:hmm:

WhyGen 4th May 2012 01:28

Different pay scales? No promotion? Good for morale - what a mess.

Wont they finish recruitment in about 6 months after all the jets finish rocking up and swamp with Skipper Pilots :ugh:

Wait up, they are putting people in on higher terms and conditions? That's not very airline of them.
You're right rmc, it's usually the other way .

To quote my source " absolute crap ", everybody is on the same T and Cs.

Apparently its not the braz FO's that are getting looked over, they are happy to wait their turn for command and get the 500 Multi crew. Its the Braz captains that have been there for years and have been shafted by employing DE f100 drivers. apparently there has been 5 internal braz captains upgraded in the last 18 months with more than 15 DE f100 drivers in the last 6 months.

My mate at network reckons there been hiring jet crew without 500 multi command over 5700kg from other jet carriers. Does anyone know what the unoffical minimas are for turboprop drivers for the F100 and whats involved in the interview process.

travelator 5th May 2012 11:02

Devils advocate :

How does moving drivers from the braz to the dirty Fokker benefit the company? Let's say a captain moves from the Braz.
He/she will need to be trained on the jet = time and money.
His/her replacement would likely be an existing FO upgrading = time and money.
The replacement would also need to be replaced, a new Braz FO = time and money.
Or
Employ a direct entry onto the jet, much easier and cost effective.

Sure some may leave but the company would likely prefer the risk over the above scenario. Morale is damaged but can anyone truthfully say they have worked where morale was important to the company? These things cannot be put into a spreadsheet.

That is the reality folks, it sucks for us but generally the goals of business do not align with those of the employees.

rockapetransport 5th May 2012 11:40

travelator, you hit the nail on the head there... company doesnt care about the pilots, just needs the pilots to stay there any not too many to leave - keep feeding them the carrot.

the braz guys were promised the f100 positions if they stayed. The network pilots dont have a seniority list or any protection in their EBA. Got to feel for them them tho.

When its better to work for the competitor to get an upgrade within the company, rather than the company itself, its a sad day.
