Seeking pilot or engineer for documentation interview

I am posting on behalf of the Australian Society for Technical Communication (acts.org.au)

I am seeking a pilot or engineer willing to be interviewed at our next member meeting (25th March)

Whilst our members publish mountains of documentation, it’s rare to have an opportunity to speak directly with document users.

Given the safety-critical nature of things like the FCOM, QRH and maintenance manuals, there are real lessons that can be taken from aviation into the wider context of procedural documentation.

The interview would be conducted over Zoom. Audience numbers are usually between 10 and 20 people.

In terms of time commitment, we would speak for perhaps 30 minutes a couple days beforehand (introductions, check Zoom presentation, any questions) and the interview itself would run for 30-40 minutes, followed by audience questions.

Please message me if interested.

Interviewing just one person is hardly a representative way to get an insight into the experiences of the entire profession.

Good on you for setting this up. I’d do it but I’m a tad busy. I’m sure someone will put their hand up and when they do it they will no doubt learn a lot from the process.

Good on you, I hope you find someone.

Perhaps you see the irony of being an organisation focussed on excellence in communication, where you perhaps got the web address wrong in your message?

First example for you, simple errors undermine confidence.
