Everyone here is arguing over scraps while EK crew get a bonus of 20 weeks pay, SQ get 8 months bonus….
Yeah, AIPA getting pilots paid for reserves duties is a win for QF and you are all making progress against the system.
Qantas is not longer the good job it was once, SOs now have two jobs to make ends meet while flying for the national carrier. All that’s needed for total chaos is for a real airline that respects its workers enough to look after them open an AUS base.
Something, something chickens, roosting.

Suffice it to say we’re not comparing Apples to Apples here.

The only way executive management will ever be able to mend the relationship with the pilot workforce is to return the conditions to reflect purchasing power from 2019. Plus lifestyle improvements.
Undo the outsourcing and bring the flying back in house where the training, culture and oversight can be appropriately managed. I’m not saying mainline are better or worse. But mainline have a company way of doing things that have mostly worked for a very long time.
Appropriately compensate the workforce for what was lost during standown. The money should not be going to share buy backs or corporate KPIs. It should be returned to the staff. At the very least, reinvested in modernising the fleet. Not some pipe dream subsidiaries designed by consultants for short term reward and long term cost to the company.
If the money was reinvested in the fleet and staff were not compensated for the standdowns. The workforce would understand. But communicate that. Take responsibility. Don’t word waffle it.
Correct some very bad decisions made during the covid era. Everyone knows what they are. Stop the spin and admit fault. Correct it.
Bring back those that were sacked due to not being vaccinated in full rank and seniority. Without condition.
Go on Vanessa. Your workforce is waiting for your leadership. Show some.

If think there’s any support amongst the pilot group to bring that bring that nutter back into the company then you’re sorely mistaken. Let’s concentrate on the pilots who are at the coalface now and haven’t spent the last 3 years rubbishing their former employer on social media.
It’s clear people are getting restless.
Anecdotally, that mood has seemingly gotten worse since the Aipa update last week. If that update is anything to go by, it seems little progress has been made since the release of the details of the company’s proposed (well and truly substandard) offer five or six months ago.
I do hope those of us doubting the results of this process are proven wrong, and there’s something coming down the line that everyone can be happy with.
Perhaps it’s time to move things along a little bit now? Get something out there, put it to a vote, if anything, just to re-survey the troops so as to give the company and the SHEA team an idea of where everyone stands?

this isn’t 89. PIA doesn’t mean you’re quitting your job.

As the EA has also not being expired for too long (the NAA EA had expired for 3 years before PIA was voted on) and negotiations ‘seem’ to be progressing, along with no votes on any proposal would mean that PIA, if any, is a long way off so talk of it now is a little premature.
