I’ve noticed a sudden change in the branding of these aircraft recently. When first announced it was a ‘Qantas’ aircraft with ‘Qantas’ decals.

Now everything that mentions A220 seems to be ‘QantasLink’ and even the pictures they’re sending out to media/on socials ect. say ‘QantasLink’.

Why the confusion/secrecy of the paint scheme?

Bonza's management are copping it from many corners with many asking what they were thinking, are they crazy and so on.

Not to be outdone, NJS management released an internal hare-brained scheme of their own for the A220: to triple the number of training pilots, to train 80 new hire FOs and complete 48 command upgrades all by the end of calendar year 2025. A much talked about but never confirmed rumour around pay rises appears to have evaporated, but now the company talking about letting pilots move to the NJS base of their choosing at some point in the future (when hell freezes over, perhaps?)

NJS have also had the first resignation of an A220 rated pilot, who was out the door before the ink was dry on their licence. Dear oh deary me, what ARE they doing in Adelaide? Is there a psychoactive substance in their tap water? A slow gas leak?

This has resulted in the small bump in morale that had begun to form, returning to its downward spiral by all accounts. Qantas seems to have information we don’t have regarding the future of aviation in Australia.

I've had the pleasure of seeing the list lined up for Virgin interviews between now and September. If the management at NJS knew how many NJS names are on it there'd be some serious crisis meetings in their Head Office I'm sure.

The pay rise presumably now hold as to not influence any FWC decision with our Network colleagues in the west.
The new FRMS ruleset and the loss of EBA roster protections as one of the 'strategic imperatives' is going to be very hard to swallow for those yet to transition to the new toy! The pay rise better be a good one when it comes!

This rumor about a payrise for NJS should be taken for what it is, complete bulls**t!

Look at whats happening in WA, they are doing everything they can to NOT give the pilots what they want. Why would it be any different for this 2 bit outfit?

Don’t let it skew your exit strategy

While I agree with your post, I wouldn’t read too much into this:

Managements are famous for their capacity for arrogance and belief that they control everything. Their blind deference to what worked in the past will, like with all organisations of this ilk, be their undoing.

Until every red tailed jet in this country is parked you won't be getting anything more than CPI!! time for all of you to unite under one union and one collective strike action until QF submit! Pilots have constantly taken the beatings for 30+ years. It is time to beat management until they submit to the pilots demands!

If all pilots were under one union, or the two major unions cooperated, I wonder if it would’ve been possible to engineer that situation. If all the EAs were open then theoretically everyone could have stopped work on the same day. The trick would’ve been in delaying negotiations on some EAs, without reaching intractable bargaining to allow all groups to strike at once. Imagine that
