Hi all.
I have made it through the online assessment and have been asked to interview for Jet Connect.
Just curious if anyone has any insights as to what to expect from the interview and (if I get to) the simulator assessment?

There’s another JC thread that covers the interview as well as current conditions. I believe the abysmal training pay is being waved.
interview wise you will probably get 3x questions on tell me about a time you had to deal with XYZ.
you will also be asked what you know about the company and why you want to work for them.
when I interviewed for them I was asked 3 tech/ifr questions. And one question about EDTO operations. You may be asked on differences on operating in NZ vs AUS.
when I last spoke to one of the pilots of recruiting they are seeking people with IFR experience. A few high VFR time guys have been knocked back.

Turn over is high because they pay so poorly nobody sticks around longer than a year.
Expect to earn 1/3rd what an Aussie QF FO earns flying the exact same frames as you when you pass each other on the aerobridge.

I presume you mean they would earn 2/3rds of what the QF pilot is bringing in? Unless QF f/o’s are on circa 300k?
I don't think they will be flying circa 50hrs a month, nor living in NZ (in case thats important to the OP) so wouldn't be distracted by the usual apples to oranges comparison.
Goodluck to the OP, my only question would be where JC sits in the scheme of the 737 gradual retirement. So far only twenty '737 replacements' have been ordered.
Qantas Pilots are notorious for quoting the “top right hand corner” number on their payslips, which includes allowances and super. In some industries this would be referred to as your overall “package”. The number below that (gross taxable income) is more representative of your base salary (including overtime or additional hours) and is what appears on your group certificate at the end of the year.
Fair chance the 737 FOs on $300k are quoting the top right hand figure. Still good coin when you take out 10.5% super and say $15k in allowances.

Take the dick measuring out of it, it was more like double the pay when comparing apples and apples (tax and currency conversion allowances etc.). Having worked at both I feel qualified to comment.
Big differences are mainline is paid by the hour, JC is salaried with minuscule overtime payments for over 65hr months. Also super is vastly different in NZ. It’s much better in Aus.
