Canucks head home in a few weeks. Bonza advertising for OOL Capts but you need 2000 left seat of an NG or 500 left seat on the MAX. What a joke. I know of someone with 6000 left seat of other 737s and a bunch of NG time but doesn't qualify. Shame on you Bonza. Keep getting the Canucks to fly then at a cost of $2000 plus a day per pilot.
Unless they have imaginary aircraft on the production line or Boeing is about to pull two out of its @r$e, they are selling phantom seats.
Seattle didn’t deliver all that much last month, and it seems like that will be the case this month, and even the next. You don’t have to be an einstein in fleet planning to sort out your fleet plans a few months ahead, the delays are well documented.

There are still a couple of NGs at Flair, my bet is the MAXs will stay in Oz and eventually be crewed by locals and Flair may cut back 2 frames or pick up a couple of NGs to replace the 2 that stay here

If we want the conditions of Australian pilots to improve at all levels, then we support all of the different pilot groups. In the USA pilot groups regularly compare themselves to the pilots of other companies and claim for similar conditions. Why wouldn’t you? If the staff at Coles demanded the same as the staff at Woolworths it wouldn’t seem unreasonable.
The Airlines need to factor in the increasing retirement rate over the next decade ( up 12%) and how that will effect the recruitment and upgrade requirements even without any industry expansion. If a company like Bonza did recognise this change and decided to create stability within its workforce then paying its pilots well might not be the worst long term strategy. I doubt they do prioritise anything beyond 12 months but still, becoming an employer of choice would have its benefits.
The short answer to the hypothetical is yes ( if you want better conditions for yourself).

I really think that is a long a way off. I’d be focusing more on survival and sustainability in the medium term.

Good point Mr Proach, I hope we can take some steps back in that direction. It would make sense if we did because there are now more pilots in the Ausi industry that weren’t there to witness it than those who were. Maybe just a generational change is enough to start identifying as one profession again rather than several tribes of pilots.
The two aircraft in question have been given names and are apparently going to be put on the Australian register, so they must be staying here for a bit longer.
Frames are relatively easy to obtain, crew not so much, wonder if some are looking at jumping ship with the expected merger of Flair & Lynx?

Flair crew are heading home this week while one aircraft remains and will be VH registered, second one will return after heavy mx also on the vh reg, wonder where they are getting the crew?
RAAF, Virgin, Tiger, Nauru, Airwork, Cathay, Qatar, Hinterland, Rex, and ex QF retirees coming out of retirement.
Jetstar and Bonza have removed the requirement for ME prior time. Single engine turbine time will do. Great for the 208 folks! Certainly is a ripper time to become a GA Pilot.
