They also were looking at VA but see more unrealized potential at ZL including a massive expansion of the pilot academy

Fleet
Helping ZL transition from SAABs to ATRs
More 737s

Academy
Training for ATRs / SAABs progressing to 737s to 777 / 787 both for ZL and Doha

International
Initially basing 5-6 x 777s in REX colours in Oz for ME
Potential ex Oz to Asia and US
I’ll eat my RMs the day I see a 777/787 in Rex paint scheme. I assume this is a fantasy post by a Rex pilot somewhere.

I'm not sure how this info could be true, given it would be considered share market sensitive. Qatar sniffing around the likes of Rex would certainly attract a lot more attention than a PPrune post.

You know that "fantasy football" thing; well this is "fantasy airlines". There'll be a sketchpad somewhere with a crayon drawing of the new Rexatar livery (and what's that in the corner? A dinosaur! Qatarasaurus Rex?!).

Separately, the agents of the Ministry of Thread Purity must be ready to explode at this point.

Why do the armchair “airline experts” on this thread keep rabbiting on about Rex when this thread is clearly about Bonza or maybe it’s yet another “I need to be seen as an expert!”?

Just like another mouth who said he’d run naked through the Sydney terminal if this newbie Jetstar ever got its AOC.

Without firsthand knowledge of income versus expenses, depth of investor pockets and profitability timeframes, to even think you have the capacity to make comment is a sign of foolishness.

So you are saying they will be A350s?

Put your money where your mouth is. Simple. No chance this lot will last in it's current format. Not........a..........chance.

Three days ago Flair took delivery of the former VH-UMQ, another frame for Canada in preference to Bonza

I guess Flair needs them more at the moment
Bonza is a mere infant in comparison and can take stock and consolidate for a while
Is there such an urgent need to grow at the moment ?
Perhaps 1 or 2 new bases over the next few years, then bring on Sydney's second airport for a massive growth spurt

They need to get into Sydney well before WSI starts. Jetstar has already announced 10 aircraft in the first year. Bonza will find it very hard walking in with a couple of aircraft, and very little Sydney Basin brand recognition.

They might need to just suck it up with off peak slots and get a foot in the market at Mascot in the meantime. No point whinging about slots for the next couple of years, hell will freeze over before Virgin cedes any slots, they would likely even re activate the Tiger AOC to protect them.

So net drop of 6 returns or 12 sectors

Probably where they need to be with their current fleet

Looks like their second base will be OOL
Launching similar destinations to MCY
Interestingly Melbourne and Cairns will be competing with JQ
No start date as yet , likely need 3-4 new frames to kick off
NTL was previously mentioned as second base

Start will be in November with two aircraft, interestingly
Initially, Bonza will partner with an airline wet lease provider to enable families to holiday and connect with each other over Christmas and peak school holidays at a time when global aircraft supply is challenged.

Good to see Bonza heeding to my advice from a few weeks ago. Competing against JQ is the only way that they can survive.
