QF Boeing 787-9 flights SYD-PER-CDG, SYD-PER-FRA
Ever since Qantas began non-stop Boeing 787 flights from Perth to London in March 2018, the airline has talked up and teased the possibility of Paris and Frankfurt joining that ultra-longhaul list.
Now, in circumstances that nobody ever expected, the two European cities will briefly become a de facto part of Qantas' 'Dreamliner direct' network.

Qantas is selling the outbound legs of its latest 'rescue' flights from Paris and Frankfurt.

Qantas must have recruited someone from the Harvard School of Economics to think of that one....
MF They should be hung drawn and quartered if they didn’t. There is a lot of outbound traffic from Oz still. And direct not transiting the Middle East should be more attractive with less exposure.
Good to see.

If you can avoid Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, why not. With further improvements to aircraft and whatever comes out of the
Boeing/Airbus factories in 10 years time, airlines will start doing one sector trips to final destination. The ME3 won't find it
all cosy.

Any other countries around the world banning their citizens from leaving? If you sign an agreement to pay for any quarantine requirements on your return, then you should be free to leave as you wish!
We really are the nanny state...

Thought AJ said they would only carry vaccinated passengers internationally? Oh well, there's principles and there's money I guess.

... or there's what he actually said.
He said he's looking at it "...once a vaccine is available".

People are banned from leaving unless they have an exemption, and I can tell you from a few people I know it’s not hard to get one. As long as your not travelling as a tourist you pretty much will be exempted. Any job, any training courses, university, conferences, anything not related to tourism overseas and you will be exempted.
Most International airlines are running scaled back schedules at the moment. Why do we need repatriation flights? Why not just up the pax limit on some for these flights from 50 to say 150?
Why have special charters to places that already have daily services to Oz from HK, Middle East etc?

What a moronic comment, plenty of people are travelling out of Australia at the moment without any issues including myself a couple of weeks ago.

I am a strong believer that a right of a citizen of any country should be a right to leave freely without question and a right to return though quarantine requirements on return need to be met. accepting a reduction of these is accepting that we have no rights at all.
