"Almost" 50 years too, (1972), for that Airline I started as a Charter Company,- Whitaker Air Charter.
Later called Noosa Air, Sunstate, then Qantaslink, and now a successful part of the Regional Australian network.
Wonder if I will get an invite in 18 months time,
Bev Whitaker died last year,
Sid Melksham of Eurong died last Friday, His funeral in Maryborough tomorrow at 1 pm. His early charters off the beach helped the fledgling operation before he bought VH-BXO and got his own Charter Licence and pilot.

It's still another 15 years before Qantas has been taking Australians to the world for 100 years.

And from what I saw on the 'Idiot Box' News this evening most bottle shops are trading as usual.
Pubs are another matter of course.
Oh, and here the Barkeep is yours Truly.
G'day Griffo.

Yeah, good on ya mate.
An annoyingly reliable response from the Great Australian Know Nothing general public.
The accumulated skill , knowledge, intellectual capital, operational experience etc.etc.
is a vital strategic asset and national icon, pure and simple.
Like the automotive industry you let it go and you will regret it for eternity.
Congratulations QF
