Basically every airline in the world is reducing capacity at the moment. If an airline wasn’t you’d be even more concerned at what management was up to.

As mentioned earlier the 787 sell off is industrial, Qantas will undoubtedly be asking for a premium price in what is definitely a buyers market at the moment.

Selling the JQ 787's is like selling the 3 crew 767, a non-standard configuration that a buyer would not want to touch with a barge pole. The more likely scenario is they stay with QF on domestic routes as they don't have any crew rest facility.

The lack of crew rest may not deter a buyer. If you care to look at history, Qantas 767s didn’t have a crew rest until Qantas E&M designed, produced and fitted it.

There are more significant factors at play that will make any pre-owned aircraft difficult to sell.

Aircraft would be well suited for Scooter or Japan for domestic ops.

Perhaps Bamboo! They seem to have some form of money tree.

Scoot has Jetstar by the balls in Singapore so they won’t be able to 9V rego them. They lost that game many moons ago. It’s just a matter of saving face in Singas. Can’t pull out, just write off the loss each year.

By 2025 Scoot will have 90 aircraft based at Changi. The Cancer, which couldn’t be further from the truth, will have 17.

Don’t forget that Scoot increase includes the restructure of Silk Air being mixed into SQ and Scooter. Yes they will still have a ****e load of aircraft.

Air Asia now fly the A330 into Sing from KL, no doubt gearing up for long haul ex Sing. Interesting times.

Jetstar in Asia will always be there as long as QF fly into Singapore, unless of course they can code share to get pax to all the SE Asia destinations.
