Capt Bruce Andrews has passed away

Former Ansett Captain, Bruce Andrews, has just passed away. Bruce was a keen aviator and owned several aircraft including an ex-RNZAF Harvard and a magnificent Sea Fury and part owner of a B-25.

May he rest in peace...

Here is a lovely photo of Bruce Andrews in the cockpit of his glorious Sea Fury VH-HFX at Canberra on 17th March 1986.

Totally shocked and very sadened by the news of Bruce's passing through this forum, like yesterday I remember he did my pre-training program line check on the 767 (VH-RMG) circa 1992, what a wonderful and pleasant day it was. He was very supportive and praise on that 4 leg day up and down on the East coast, and always kept track of my progress in Ansett and gave encouragement during my career even when I gained my command. All I can say is I feel very sad by this news, and will remember Bruce with great fondness.

Had the pleasure of watching Bruce display the Sea Fury and the B25 Mitchell at various air shows.

What happened to the Sea Fury and Mitchell?

RIP.

The Sea Fury was sold to the late Ray Hannah in the UK and the B-25 was sold by the AWM to Yanks Air Museum at Chino, Ca
