Australian pilots can work for US regionals.
GA F15,
I think it sorta depends on which carrier you're talking about. I'd assume you are an Australian citizen since you hold their passport ? E3s are only for Aussie citizens.
There were some regionals that'd take an Aussie right off the boat with no FAA license: PSA, GOJET COMMUTAIR (maybe PDT too ?) take E3s...or used to. I haven't checked lately to see if they still do.
Not sure how the ACMI carriers like Atlas, Kalitta, etc. handle that but it's worth your checking if you're determined to come here. Aussies have gone to some ACMIs.

Rumours Ireland close to getting access to E3 visas ? Lots of Boeing drivers at Ryanair will be looking across the pond at that southwest contract . Some big IF’s in regards to this .
you still have to go through the same initial Part 121 course as any other new hire.
The legislation for that passed the House of Representatives about 2 years ago but I'm not sure where it went in the Senate. It appears to be a long way from becoming law:

As a follow up to the Irish E3 question, the legislation was introduced in the Senate in March of this year. Not sure what happened after that. It says, "Read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.". I think a committee is where legislation goes to die:

Kalita are taking E3s and will base you in Sydney.
You’d have to have zero alternative options and be homeless as well as broke, to go to Kalitta.
Here's the scoop the the SWA/E3 matter. If it's for just one applicant, they must reeeeeally like this person. My guess is that this person is trial balloon:
"At this point in time it seems as though Southwest Airlines is simply assessing its option. The airline told Simple Flying that it is not planning a large campaign to employ foreign employees. Instead, it appears that the airline is looking to hire a single pilot already working for another airline within the United States in a one-off circumstance."

Ring them, you'll talk directly to them, not have to go through the bullshit you would here. Be careful though, if they like you they'll offer you a job on the spot. No hold files there bro.
Since it's been a bit quiet in here lately, here's something to chew on. Once you've got 1000 hours part 121, these sorts of opportunities are now very common. Like all things, there's fine print, and your milage may vary. But if a regional isn't your style, there's always the freight guys like Atlas and Kalitta, or the locos like Frontier and Spirit.
If nothing else, this should put every Australian airline on notice that their current offerings are hot garbage.

So putting this in Aussie terms, it would read something like this:
$115,000 sign on bonus to join QantasLink as Direct Entry Captain, which would equate to earning AUD$320,000 in your first year, AUD$325,000 in your second year, then a guaranteed 737 right seat at Qantas in your third year

I have all the hope in the world that an E3 can blaze a trail for flow to a legacy, but I'll believe it when I see it. Their unions are already hellbent against the E3 and don't even have any in their ranks.
I heard Kalitta is doing both a Singapore and Sydney base specifically for the Aussie pilots. I’m not sure on the logistics of it all but from the rumours I have heard it is 777 for Singapore and 747 for Sydney.
Can anybody confirm this?

While an E3 won't help you with a flow, companies sponsoring E3's onto an EB3 are becoming more common. A bunch of guys currently going through that at Commutair have been given flow dates to United of mid 2024, contingent on them actually having their EB3 by then.
