A380

Just saw on Yahoo news that the A380 may be coming to an end in a few years.
I always wonder whether the word needed such a large people mover, we shall see I guess. Also the A350 might be on shaky ground with delivery delays to Qatar Airways.

Interesting times ahead.

As of 31 October 2014, Airbus has received 318 firm orders and delivered 144 aircraft; Emirates has the most A380s on firm order with 140.

The current order book of 174 is at least five years forward production.

It will be decades before the A380 phases out of passenger service, at which time it may revert to freight service.

There are 778 firm orders for the A350 family of aircraft and whilst Qatar Airways may have deferred their first delivery, the aircraft's future is not in doubt.
