there's a DC8 freighter that's been flying building material to Nauru regularly for a Brisbane building company who's been building accommodation for illegal refugees.

Think it's called Construct.

Based in Brissy I only saw it fly overhead Colmslie departure runway 19 the other day at about 2000ft, the sound made me do a double take, I knew it was a oldy, and even with the engine upgrades it left a nice brown smudge behind it, not as good as the old days though...

Since you mentioned 737's, ...we know what happened to your 737-200's, but what ever happened to your 737-400F.

Thanks Skystar for the update.

Must say the -400F looked quite nice with the HeavyLift paintwork, suited the 737 aircraft quite nicely.

Is the DC8 operating under the old HeavyLift company as well, or is there a new company?

Cheers

This should answer your question:

SkyBus Jet Cargo (Las Vegas McCarran) has deployed its first DC-8-73CF, N807DH (msn 45990), into revenue service. The freighter is being wet-leased to Heavylift Cargo Airlines (HN, Brisbane Int'l) who have based it out of Port Moresby. The DC-8 was recently ferried from Victorville to the Papua New Guinean capital via Honolulu.

Got me thinking about the proverbial Phoenix.

BTW, where is the DC-8 registered, any chance it is VH?
