Not sure but interested

Not sure of the cause but heard on liveatc.net that they couldn't fly above 15000ft.
I also heard they would be dumping fuel for 40 minutes and that was at about 12:20am local time

Aircraft was in a holding pattern over Western Vic for quite some time before dumping fuel over Port Phillip Bay.

Was in the air for almost 3 hours, mostly at 14000ft.

Well I can tell you it was a main gear door sensor that "dislodged" and the crew had a gear door open indication...rtn to Melb.
This A388 is also a near new one apparently the boys were saying....

From a mate of mine who landed in Melboure after them....

Get Matty Hall up in an Extra to check out the gear door: still up? press on!

Don't those things have video cameras underneath? Put a GoPro on every wingtip, I say.

Wouldn't happen on a 737...

EK A380 diversion to Singapore

An EK A380 last week had an IFSD due to oil loss and diverted to SIN for IDG change. Apologies if already reported, but I didnt see it on prune last week.
I believe it was on a SYD-DXB sector, i can get more details if reqd.
Cheers !
