The employee body of Qantas has always been open to sensible cost saving measures. The problem is that when we have taken a pay freeze before, the (small m) managers took the savings in bonuses and patted themselves on the back for conning the stupid staff.
All trust is gone. If the managers take a serious and transparent cut, the staff would look at it. The problem is the transparent issue. They can't be trusted.

Or how about back in 2008 when the company was overstaffed with SOs? The employee initiative to save money, so that redundancies would not come into effect, was wiped out in one foul swoop with a goodbye bonus to darth.
Sounds good..will all employees do the same to make it effective??.
As usual, the people who actually make the money are the ones being robbed. As "What the" said
