QF Global Delays Today 30.11.11

QF has mass computer/I.T failures today, systems down everywhere affecting domestic and international operations and affecting global operations.
JQ has off sched aircraft this morning (as usual), a grounded aircraft due to 'unscheduled maintenance' (oops) and poor old JQ can't uplift disrupted pax from their own services onto their parent QF due to the system outage.

No doubt the nupty executives will blame those naughty engineers and pilots for the issue? Another day in paradise at cluster f#ck central, to be sure. Time to trot out WIrthless for some spin, and those poor four media trolls will be busy today !

Had written boarding passes? seriously... the entire airline grounded for safety issus, and now hand written boarding passes! doesnt paint an inviting picture for a "premium" airline does it....

Issue was with Amadeus so it affected all airlines that use that res system apparently. Still, not a good look for QF at this time. PR spin doctors seem to be doing their best to keep it out of televised media so far.

@Ultralights: Since in Australia the boarding pass is not a form of id it makes no difference at all.

Outages

This is the 3rd outage the Res System has had in the last three years. The system going down slows the check in/ boarding procedure down enormously simply adding to the joys of modern travel
