Qantas Group back to Beijing

Qantas will recommence services to Beijing - but using its low cost carrier Jetstar rather than full service flights.

Subject to regulatory approval, a new daily service running Melbourne-Singapore-Beijing will start on November 24, 2011.

How to piss off more Qantas passengers. Show Mlb/Beijing as a Qantas flight, the punter turns up and finds he/she going Mlb/Sin/Bjg with the highlight been Sin/Bjg in a cramped A320 paying for food etc and the whole trip takes what about 13/14 hours elapsed time instead of 9/10 hours direct with a Chinese carrier. This will obviously be a huge boost for teh Qantas group.

And the fools wonder why we are losing market share...

Oh, that's right, it's because of the pilots and engineers... You know the ones... The ones that maintain our safety reputation and probably the best marketing we have!

Dragon Man - it is no different to Qantas selling QF001 as one segment Sydney to London with a stop on Bangkok...

JQ007 will continue to PEK.

Oh, for Pete's sake, QF1 goes via BKK to LHR because you can't do SYD-LHR nonstop! You can do SYD-PEK nonstop. The two cases are completely different!

You reckon?

Thats not resuming flights to Beijing, thats spin for adding a flight to Singapore that can connect to Beijing.

Breaking news, Qantas to open new route Sydney to Timbuktu**

**Direct flight stopping Innamincka, Kathmandu and wherever the f#@k else we can find cheap crew to operate it from. Flights will be operated by J* with a bleeding roo sticker located somewhere on the airframe

Mr buzzy.. I reckon you can do better than that. No need to use that language because like it or not, these days, it offends people.... Including me.

No matter how little they intend paying Singapore based Jq pilots, they'll never come close to matching Prc local pilots salaries (or cabin crew).

Trying to compete directly with the Chinese state owned airlines will only end in tears for western competition, particularly those without significant operational support (it costs western airlines alot).

Ah whatever, Whatever,

Frankly, who cares if you are offended?? I'm offended by my company lying about what the dispute is all about, I'm offended when they label us "rogues" and "kamikazes", I'm offended when Joe Public gets on the net and sprouts off at how p!ss easy our job is, that anyone can do it, that we all earn too much and do bugger all. There's a lot actually, to be offended about but I should stop there.

The REALITY is: this unelected Labour "Govt" and the minority groups that got it across the line do not give a sh!t about aviation workers in this country. As far as they are concerned, we can all be priced out of the market by cheap imported labour because aviation is electorally unimportant - no votes to be had from it, indeed votes to be had from elsewhere by supporting the forces dismantling Australian aviation T&C's. And that I find the most offensive of all, having dedicated 30 years of my working life to the aviation industry.

So yeah, I put humorous, throwaway lines like Buzzzzzzzzzzzzy's into the "whatever" basket!

Charge them an hourly minding fee for the pleasure of being in the airport on their "direct" flight. Say AUD50/hour non refundable##

## Price based on offline or voucher payment for bookings through 1*.com. For all other bookings, a booking and service fee of $10 per passenger, per flight will apply. $35 extra per passenger, per flight applies to bookings through 800wegotyounow. Carry on baggage limits, including size restrictions, will be strictly applied so we can turn a profit. Passengers with more than the applicable carry on baggage allowance will need to check in baggage, and charges will apply. Fares valid for new bookings made via the stipulated web address only. Fares are non-refundable. Limited changes are permitted, charges apply. Other terms & conditions apply, we'll tell you later as we make them up. All travel on 1* is subject to the 1* conditions of carriage (don't bother clicking the link as it doesn't connect to the conditions). Additional fees apply for use of 'direct flight on ground' airport services (inc food/beverage, toilet, shower facilities and any oxygen consumed whilst still breathing) Baggage transfer fee applies for baggage transfer to your new 'direct flight on ground' aircraft. We reserve the right to send your bag anywhere in our network prior to it arriving at your destination.
