Why?

Because this is totally impractical for Australian pilots and families:

As a group, now suitably disengaged, we could approach Singapore or a Middle East operator and offer our services at a negotiated rate.
Could effectively shut down QANTAS overnight and stimulate demand for the new entrant, greenfields Chinese operation may even be the go.
Shame about QANTAS but it seems that's the way it's heading according to Joyce and live export is a bit contentious ATM anywy.
Some of us recall the last fiasco of mass pilot resignations and the tragic circumstances that followed. Then, as now, it would cause minimal impact on, and inconvenience to the airline.

Indeed, history suggests that move may even be beneficial to the airline. And we don't need to create tomorrows news headlines and lose all public support, do we?

Please try to keep PPRuNe real.

And the other reason - this thread attracted trolls!
