You might want to check your figures there fella, you may be quite surprised
Nope, "fella" I don't need to check them, you have just validated my statement with the figure you produced for Jetconnect. I stand by my comment.

Possible, however NOT if you compare $ per hours flown per year!
NOT comparing $ per hours flown per year. Simply stating their gross earnings are higher. i.e the figure on their payslip,..... nothing else.

So it may mean they are working harder for the same money - well ok. The comment was in reference to a previous post from Mr. Hat

Mr Hat:

oh christ I couldn't be bothered..
If you can't be "bothered" then don't make a sweeping comment without explaining what criteria you are using in reference to it........

I suggest you have another read of my post. Mine was a question as I didn't have the information at hand to compare which company now has the lowest conditions given the Tiger pilots recent win.

I wasn't "bothered" getting into some sort of a debate on something, you rightly point out, I don't have the facts on.

Could you give us a snapshot of the J* NZ/PB/JConnect if you know the numbers?

Very interesting? Jetstar NZ Capt is on $140k base, plus yearly retention of $20k makes it $160k if he was to do 90 block hours a month for a 11 months of the year he would earn $193k at the current incentive rate of $120 hr over 65 hrs. DTA only paid on overnights which NZ captains aren't doing many of so I'm not sure where you figures are coming from? If a Jetconnect Capt was to do 90hrs a month he would earn $225k as per the Jetconnect CEA. This is the comparison as per contracts I have. Just a comparison and to clarify to your post.

This is however swaying away from the original post regarding Tigers T&C's. Congrats to the Tiger boys and girls!

Don't forget to keep in mind those things in Tiger you have to pay for yourself compared to the other airlines.

So, $193,000 to $225,000 to drive a 737 or 320 across the Tasman?

Do you go through the cabin during the flight with a barf bag asking for donations because you are on the poverty line.

I thought it was more like $130k base plus $20k bonus. Any ideas?

From a reliable source, JQ NZ base sal starts at NZ$130 yr1, NZ$134 yr2, NZ$138 yr3. Overtime past 65hrs @120/hr. No super unless you put in 2% then they put in same in Kiwisaver. Retention NZ$20k first year, reducing by 5k per year (unless extraordinary generosity overtakes in which case they might make it 20 each year). 5 weeks annual leave pa. No paxing credits.

Mr Hat .... V Aus's EBA is near completion so their conditions will be much improved very soon. SS is well gone and JB has made clear his desire to resolve the EBA quickly. If Tiger and V can do decent deals why does QF have to create the angst it does!!!!

V Aust. EBA will only be resolved quickly if they accept the Pineapple on offer.

Not sure where your info is coming from but the deal on offer is far from "decent".

I'm sure the company would love to resolve it quickly. They have used Jetstar as the basis. They want to pressure the V Aust. guys to agree to operate the 777 for similar money to Jetstar. Then in turn they will wave this VAust agreement at the VB guys with regard to the A330 when their agreement expires in Nov.

The Company and the Unions are nowhere near close to agreement so I fail to see how it could be close to completion.

Roller,

Actually they are paying paxing credit at the rate of 0.5 the flight time when a passenger.

Blue Ruin is that Full Service/Full Fare airline with low cost wages? Oh to have the cake and eat it sounds marvellous doesn't it?

You can't have it both ways now .

Base infor would be good. I have been given the opportunity to wear the tiger wings this year and ideally i would love a SE QLD base.
2 questions.
1. Is it likely?
2. I'm a BIG believer in seniority so if they are going to have SE QLD base would the line be long?

chasingthetail

No offence - but that would have to rate as one of the dumbest questions I've seen on PP for a long time...or, being more gracious - a question asked by someone who has no idea of history.

In the good old days both QF and AN (that would be Ansett, the airline that was screwed over by the Kiwis...but that's yet another historical point ) had f/o's who delayed commands because they didn't want to leave Brizvegas for southern climes.

I doubt the desire for the lemming march north has decreased to any great extent in the intervening years.

And apologies - maybe not the dumbest question but it did allow me to head off on a tangent - much appreciated!
