Fake airline pilots in India
The Indian DGCA is investigating claims that there are MANY of its nation's airlines' pilots having fake or forged licences and endorsements or have forged exam results.
It makes you wonder if airline flying is unsafe on Indian' airlines or whether airline pilots do not need to be as qualified as our regulators tell us. Statistics show us that properly qualified pilots have crashed more airliners than fake airline pilots.
Any university would love to do some research into this situation, but would we trust the outcome if the research was sponsored by an airline or pilot's union?
Are airliners likely to be HUMAN ERROR proof in the future when automation makes pilots redundant, no matter what their qualifications are. Autoland was touted as too hazardous many years ago but is now part of normal ops.
The front seats, up until now occupied by pilots, would be a premium attraction for passengers given the view, but could you watch out the front during takeoffs and landings without flinching?

If you consider that the majority of commercial aircraft are being flown by qualified pilots then obviously if an accident is caused by pilot error the odds are that it was a qualified pilot and not the other way around.
In India when shopping at the very least there are a lot of things which are not the real thing and the question is does that extend to pilots and other professions?
Please direct us to the credible research that qualified pilots crash more often than unqualified pilots.
Just how many years ago was autoland considered unsafe?
