sorry guys,i had meetings this morning....

put personal thing aside,

this recession will finish very soon,as any downturn.

the local, regional and international market will pick up again,

ther will be a big market out there to be tapped,

Premium, leisure and VFR-visiting friends and relatives

apart from the niche FIFO,charters and defence logistics.

Leasing companies are crying to lease out these present days deliveries,

and the terms are very favorable,

ACMI is the mantra of operating an airline these days.

there is a big pool of very talented and highly qualified Tech crews out there
at very competitive rates in Asia,

as well as world class MROs to tailor any business plan.

as far as finance is concerned,we all know every big investor wants to own an airline, its just so glamorous.

so instead of criticising, poeple should create ideas to how australia can become a world class aviation giant.

heads up to be part of the next aviation boom.

Yes the recession will end one day, and demand for aviation obviously will return..... Its a needed service......

However, Can sky survive long enough to withstand the recession?
Probably not the way things are going... Unless there are some drastic "back door plans" or you know something I dont.

Sky needs to stick to Asia Pacific for now, and try and stabalise either a Charter contract or keep a steady RPT service going.

Also, if this recession is something like the great depression (odds are its not) but if somehow things get much worse, then that will be Skys' final nail in the coffin.

And criticising airlines (as with anything) can assist in changes to the airline in + or - ways..

heads up to be part of the next aviation boom.

...Just no. thats hardly a heads up. Its obvious there will be another boom. Everyone knows that. At some point air services will return and need return to growing.

Its hardly a boom anymore, its a regular occurance, Aviation climbs to amazing levels, then drops out incredibly in hard times, then back up again at some point or another.

Rup I wont go into the detail i did last time countering your ramblings, however I will say this.

Financing and procuring an Aeroplane is not like renting a car, there may be some truth to leasing companies offering favourable terms to potential operators however they are wise to "creative" accounting and will not deal without seeing some very healthy accounts and collateral.

Something SAW clearly does not have now and it is very difficult to to see them EVER having.

Something that seems to be ignored is that you dont just go handing an aeroplane back, again like a rental car. You do not just roll up at the leasing company and say "thanks guys the tanks are full", it costs serious money and with SAW's track record Aircraft leasing companies will not be falling all over themselves to throw aeroplanes at you. The cost of money is too great and they have all been burnt recently and have protocols in place to minimize their risk. Unfortunately for SAW it is far cheaper and less risky for any aircraft lessor to leave an Aeroplane parked in the desert than it is to fool around with outrageous business plans and ideas.

BTW someone wanted to know which drug i am on,
130 LL AVGAS,
thats the reason i am still in aviation,

OK,now i can understand,
tempers are high because of job losses,

IT IS REGREATTABLE,and that people are going to stuggle to put food on their table,

i myself is finding it tough these days, after taking a reduction in salary.

but if you guys can move forward, get on with your lives,
try to find another job, which could be better than the previous one,

then we can move ahead to make our business more efficient to deal with these hard times.
Soon as we become more stable financially,we will start again utilising
this big pool of aviation lovers.

watch this space, if you would still like to work with us.

Devil RUP Sleep Well enjoy yourself while you can.

RUP I don't know how you can sleep at night, living it up chasing pie in the sky contracts and building hotels in Pacific Islands, when there are ex employees struggling to put food in there families mouths just because of Sky Ground World miss managment. Will we ever see our money.
Just found out that when SGW goes insolvent on Friday big money man at top has secured his investment by attempting to jump the queue by putting a charge on the company. Be warned all creditors it looks like they are getting ready to run.
The whole episode stinks.

this recession will finish very soon,as any downturn.
Can you explain this statement?

This is MASSIVE deleveraging globally on a scale that $Trillions or as high as $1Quadrillion in 'leveraged' money that doesn't exist has to dissappear.

AIG in the USA last night announced a $60B loss in ONE QUARTER after a $150B bailout. Their debts are 70x their value. They are largest underwriters of Commercial and industrial insurance in the world's largest economy and it holds VAST ammounts of 401k(Super).

The world's biggest economy is rooted and its taking the rest of the world with it. Our mining supply contracts are still being filled from last year and the year before. Wait until 2010.

The next 10 years will make 1929-39 look benign.

Rup, is this a 'downturn' or the 2nd biggest bear market in history where the poo is only starting to hit the fan overseas and only starting to lap our shores because we are still filling mineral back orders that will expire soon?

So Rup how did the meeting at Centrelink go?

Got some inside information from somebody in the business and they tell me that in the near future Sky Air World will be tendering for the following:

1. Take over the Antartic run in the ERJ 190, and will do it three times a day, using the same aircraft also to Christmas Island. That will get the utilisation up, just hope the engineers keep on top of the maintenance.

2. Provide the RAAF with additional capacity when the Caribou retires,

3. Coastwatch using the surplus ERJ145's,

4. Buy out both Qantas and Virgin within six months,

5. Replace the VAus B777 with the ERJ190 on the Brisbane to LA route,

6. The approach the USAF about taking over the contract to run Air Force 1 for Obama on a hourly rate,

7. Approach NASA about leasing the Space Shuttle,

8. Talk to NASA about using ERJ190 instead of the aging Space Shuttle.

Dream the dream!

If it was not up to C.Columbus,America would have been discovered, centuries later,

someone has to take the challenge, somewhere,

ideas have to be put in practice,to succeed,

ok a few go flop, but most are very successful,

look at aviation history, there have been lots of tragedies and success stories.

in Australia,people took the challenge,

some did well, some just managed, some disappeared,

Compa*s I,
East W*st,
Compa*s II,
Imp*lse,
M**air,
Anse*t,
S*y,
Ozj*t,
Aeropel**an,
Flight W*st,
Austr*lian,
Haz*lton,
Kende*l,
*NA,
T*A,
and there are more.

history will judge the winners and losers,
in the whole process, the people complaining the most got free training on types, which made them experienced on heavier faster aircrafts.

the truth is that some mistakes were and are made during managing a complex business as an airline,
and some people do end up unfortunately becoming victims of these actions,
but on the brighter side, they aquire free training and experience.

look forward for the next new ventutres around the block, and upgrade your career on new complex types like the
195,NG900,317,330,340,777,350.787,380

and think like Skystar 320

RUP, great piss-take. Even down to mimicking the guy's grasp of grammar and spelling and the way he presents at meetings. Took me a while to suss it out.

Your points so well made I doubt anyone who trawls these forums will ever give him another go in this industry. If there really is a snake oil sales job out there, just maybe he will reappear...

Plans

I did hear they are putting a 190 at Maningrida for the Millingimbi run. Three times a day for the VFR. When the recession is over next week they are going to extend the run to Elcho Is.

Not quite correct Flying-Spike, one ERJ will run Darwin-Cooinda-Jabiru-Oenpelli-Mannigrida-Darwin, the second ERJ will do the Tiwi Islands three times a day, seven days a week.
