QF 737 shuts down at Virgin @ Tulla
Can anyone confirm that a Qantas 737 pulled into the Virgin Blue gates and shut down in Melbourne yesterday? Meant to go to D4 but arrived at 8 and informed ATC he had no idea where he was and pulling into a gate and shutting down.

Maybe QF is just testing the water to tender out ground staff and handling.....
Great story if it's true. I'm sure there would be couple of 'please explains' heading the captain's way!
Cheers,

or maybe VB has decided that the Premium Economy fiasco isn't worth the loss of the normal seats and wants to sub contract it to Q!
the calls poco would have been classic if the incident happened

Mentioned before, but I've only ever seen Air Lanka pull up at QF Domestic once before...because we didn't have the aerobridge lights on according to their Rep!
Oh please let it be a certain QF73 Check Captain.....

Without the mention of names of course does the checkie you refer have anything to do with turbans (and that is not a typo of turbines)?
oops
Virgin nearly had a CX A330 park at gate 4 in Mel about a year ago. A good mate of mine was the Capt and thankfully stopped the F/O heading for the VB terminal.........would have been a bit tight too.

Hmmm...no, I think we're thinking of different ones...Hey! Maybe they're all prix???
Nah, I'm sure the majority are jolly decent...except for two...

can confirm said event did happen. Quite unusual but maybe not too hard for an unfamiliar crew to get lost with all the taxiway works and closures going on at ML at moment. Engineers on intl bay were advised to come and pick up their aircraft after a short while. ATC Actually advised the aircraft to pull all the way into the bay and shutdown when they had gonwe too far and could not turn back around.

Ah, there but for the grace of the deity go any of us.
I recall, back in the days when we weren't scared of our shadows, having a jump seat ride from CNS to SYD in a QF 747. It was the crew's first domestic service, ever, with QF and after landing on 34R, at night, they took an incorrect taxiway (lots and lots of taxiway works) and had to get a wing walker and follow me car to ensure missing the Ansett finger (bay 17 I think from memory).
Addendum: Oops, sorry 'bout that, should read 34L. I'll leave it as it stands so as to not render subsequent posts meaningless.
Must learn to remember that Left is the one with the watch!
