Heavy,

First I'd suggest you check your resources correctly, OA are back on the BNE-POM route on behalf of APNG as OA are having troubles with the aircraft at the moment.

Secondly Heavylift / or OA for that fact cannot operate any more cargo space due to the fact that all available capacity has been used! however there is around 1,600seats still to be allocated a week on the BNE-POM route.

Hevylift - just make sure you check up on your resources sometimes, kese say?

Is this why OA is looking at two more 735s? To get the lion's share of the 1600 seats allocated? Will the new chief pilot for APNG GB (ex OJ) have an influence in this?

Why would they want to fly their aircraft on this route????????? I see no logical sense

Just a couple of things to help this one along.

OA operate for APNG three times a week MON, WED & FRI
GB was previously with OJ
GB was also previously with OA
OA are training APNG cabin crew
OJ are the one's having troubles with the aircraft at the moment NOT OA

Flying Monk

All of what you say is correct, but if OA has one aircraft with a tech issue they end up with 100% of the fleet on the ground. OJ on the other hand (in the same situation) will only have 25% of the fleet grounded.

BTW, not backing either, punching the maths and still have a side interest in the region.

Todays Solomons flight was operated by an Alliance F100 - appears OJ had a mechanical issue and no back up aircraft to replace!

Who is doing Norfolk Air these days? They've announced an OOL service to be operated by 737-300, which suggests OA, unless OZ are still getting this 733.

OZ/HVY advertised for -300 crews in the Aussie just two issues ago, so suspect it would be them.

It seems that they still have the contract.
