Hopefully the next time QF or Jetstar try and match a new entrants airfares, they will get kicked squarely in the backside.

The Federal Government will make it illegal for big businesses to cut their prices in a bid to wipe out smaller rivals.

New laws will be unveiled today to better safeguard small businesses by making it easier for the competition watchdog to crackdown on predatory pricing.

Federal Small Business Minister Craig Emerson says the move will keep more players in the market to keep prices low.
