Was it a Q400 or 100/200/300 series dash?
I have a mate here who works on Q400's on weekends. He puckered when he saw this as well hehe.
I don't think Qantaslink has any 100's though.
Well on a positive note well done to the crew involved. I dont know all the details and wont speculate but if they seemed to circle the airport then they obviously did all they could with a successful outcome.
Congratulations

Could be a few tricky questions to answer if it is a Q400, but then the SAS problems were not nose wheel related...
As lofty as the journalistic credentials of the Daily Tele are, something not quite right with the report.

Wynsock, I think you might be correct about the Telegraph article. According to SMH, they actually got the nose wheel down and "landed without incident"

Yet another example of pathetic journalism! The gear was down with three greens BEFORE the a/c experienced a hydraulic malfunction. The a/c still landed with ALL three gears in the down and locked positions.

Hang on a minute, is there a story here at all?
Eighteen passengers, nerve wracking blah blah...
(a) crew was forced to use a back-up system to lower its nose wheel before making an emergency landing.
or is it this one?
(b) their plane malfunctioned and was forced to make an emergency landing without its nose wheel.
or
(c) there is no story.

There is also the media beat up technique in adding reference to a totally unrelated Qantas incident. Lucky the journalist didn't know that I recently avoided a bad landing in slipping on a piece of lettuce in a Qantas Club.

Well that's a bit unfair on the Swiss isn't it? You sure you don't mean the Swedes?
Can we just combine the SAS thread and blame it on the Swiss?
