Exactly as I heard it. Good news for us wannabes. Hiring to increase come July/August.
Flyby...any idea what US destination might be added?

Where to next
ORD?
DFW? (back to the future!)
LAS?
SEA?
SCL - hmmmm, roo's beaten us to it.
Sorry horserun but JFK, LGA or MIA (wouldn't that be nice) - a little too far I think, even with the plastic plane - think payload range - headwinds on the way back.
Just draw the range circle around AKL guys, then look at whether its a good inbound to NZ market for punters with lots of $$$.

Thanks for the response. It would be hard to imagine them going to the East Coast. I could certainly see DFW. In any case its good to see them considering more routes, signs of a healthy company!
There may be hope for me yet!

NZ's Thinking
NZ is asking itself some quite fundemental questions at the moment.
As they move from 747 to 777 and phase in 787... what is the case for routes that don't have AKL at one end?
Suspect LHR will always be a fixture.
But the route map in 10-15yrs time could look quite different... a whole fan of lines stretching directly out from AKL right around the Pacific Rim.
V. interesting stuff.
MAA?
BOM?
CAN?
And by that time... leaders who think they're James Bond... will be just a faint memory
