Umm...I wouldn't write him off just yet. Blind Freddy knows QF's modus operandi & I'd say that he's up to his neck with their contigency plan.

Absolutely right Buster,
There is no way JH are not going to get a piece of this pie.
It will form part of the future strategy of keeping QE LAMEs in check.

For the time being however, the bang bus is in house 100%. Pity really, I was so looking forward to certain people having to return to the coal face, to have their "skills" laid bare for all to see......

Quite true Redstone, but I don't think they were ever going to live or die depending on QF's A380 decision. One door closes...

Red,
My opinion encompasses the Q broader fleet.
With a new, enthusiastic and 'cost competitive' MRO onshore, why wouldn't Q utilise this service?
There are many advantages that can be spun by Q - onshore maint, cost eff, industrial bargaining, overflow etc etc.
I don't think JHAS is wholly out of the Q picture.
As much as it would be of entertainment value, those technically challenged may well be coming to a station near you, yet.
Of course, if only Romulus would rise and post, we may get some real insight in the goings-on.

dont think jhas, is out of the picture altogether.if i were a betting man, i reckon we will see jhas doing more terminal work in the future.they may have lost in the first round of 380 bids but i am sure they will be back.
as for the hand/eye,manualy inept you speak of, i am sure we will see the return of the black pyjama wearing soldiers shortly, for the rest of us,who actually enjoy working on legacy fleets, may we still laugh at adversity, smile at incompentence and enjoy the company of skilled friends who we share a beer with from time to time.

I bet QF has JHAS on standby in case the EBA blows up in there face. I guess the strike breakers are still in the wings as well.
Since QF paid for the JHAS B1 they may as well get some use out of them.

Excuse the ignorance - recently retired, but just who can sign out the aircraft once it gets here? B1, B2, Cat A? How many engineers will it take to turn around? Will this be covered by Transit Authorities?
