finally Q400s for Eastern
well it's taken a fair while but the vacancy notices went up on the board tonight. also noticed about 8 commands on the 'sustaining fleet' etc.
will it be enough though? my guess is the RoR(rate of resignation) will get close to 20/month soon!
you can only kick a dog so many times before it turns and bites.

What's the EAA pay for 400 crew? I think it's classic plus 7% for sunnies.
Bigger fleet? Or just get rid of the 100s? Were are they going to get drivers?
It's not really the same old 'Shake any tree and eager pilots fall out...' situation now is it?

Brief specifically stated that SSA CBR base will remain (even though the rumour mill has been saying it will close for a while now). Also states that EAA crew will operate the 400 under SSA AOC initially, and under SSA CAR 217.
With the information provided at present, the option for EAA pilots seems to be 400 ops with SYD Base, primarily SYD-CBR, 1-2 aircraft. Not sure if this is really something crew are going to jump on (although I suppose it's slightly better that SSA CBR base - look at how many people leapt at that opportunity!)
I wonder if they'll can overnights for these crew (EAA and SSA) given that they'll have home based crew in SYD and CBR. If that's the case, the extra money will disappear pretty quickly!

Does this mean that EAA tech crew will stop pestering SSA for a combined seniority list?
I guess that the Dash8 -100's/200's will be transferred to JitConnect for QF ops into non-jet airfields in EnZed. How old are these aircraft (? cycles) and what condition are they in?

Going Boeing, the -100s are around 30-40000 cycles and look it.
Also I stand corrected on the thread title. I should have named it 'finally eastern pilots are allowed to fly the Q400,sometimes'!

I think you will find its the other way round. ALL new Q400's will go on the Sunstate AOC. Eastern will still fly some of them. No merge of AOC's in the forseeable future. No combined list on the cards either while AOC's are separate.
