finally Q400s for Eastern

well it's taken a fair while but the vacancy notices went up on the board tonight. also noticed about 8 commands on the 'sustaining fleet' etc.

will it be enough though? my guess is the RoR(rate of resignation) will get close to 20/month soon!

you can only kick a dog so many times before it turns and bites.

:)

What's the EAA pay for 400 crew? I think it's classic plus 7% for sunnies.

Bigger fleet? Or just get rid of the 100s? Were are they going to get drivers?

It's not really the same old 'Shake any tree and eager pilots fall out...' situation now is it?

:E

hoss 20th Sep 2007 11:11

they'll get pilots alright, just experience levels will continue to drop and the training department will be kept busy.

apacau 20th Sep 2007 22:08

Does this mean the Sunnies CBR base closes and gets handed to Eastern? Will there be a new SYD base for NSW flying?

Icarus53 21st Sep 2007 01:04

Brief specifically stated that SSA CBR base will remain (even though the rumour mill has been saying it will close for a while now). Also states that EAA crew will operate the 400 under SSA AOC initially, and under SSA CAR 217.

With the information provided at present, the option for EAA pilots seems to be 400 ops with SYD Base, primarily SYD-CBR, 1-2 aircraft. Not sure if this is really something crew are going to jump on (although I suppose it's slightly better that SSA CBR base - look at how many people leapt at that opportunity!)

I wonder if they'll can overnights for these crew (EAA and SSA) given that they'll have home based crew in SYD and CBR. If that's the case, the extra money will disappear pretty quickly!

apacau 21st Sep 2007 01:26

You'd have to think that offpeak CBR-MEL would be an obvious route for the EAA Q400s as well. i can't believe they still have the DH8-100s on this route!

Does this mean that EAA tech crew will stop pestering SSA for a combined seniority list?

Does this mean that EAA tech crew will stop pestering SSA for a combined seniority list?
Moron. United you stand, divided you fall. Obviously a parochial "qweenslander" pilot group member:hmm::rolleyes:. No they don't want to take your jobs in Bris and Cairns. They want to get things happening before its forced upon you. And it will. You bin lissening to your idiot AFAP branch mates eh?

newsensation 21st Sep 2007 21:24

Does that mean that once Eastern Crews are operating the Q400 on SS AOC they could operate it on all SS routes?:uhoh:

Going Boeing 21st Sep 2007 21:29

I guess that the Dash8 -100's/200's will be transferred to JitConnect for QF ops into non-jet airfields in EnZed. How old are these aircraft (? cycles) and what condition are they in?

newsensation 21st Sep 2007 22:13

And Jitconnect 737 to Eastern AOC....

hoss 21st Sep 2007 23:37

Going Boeing, the -100s are around 30-40000 cycles and look it.

Also I stand corrected on the thread title. I should have named it 'finally eastern pilots are allowed to fly the Q400,sometimes'!

:)

WynSock 7th Oct 2007 09:15

Eastern drivers on the Sunstate AOC. Anything unusual about that?

Only that Sunstate is going the way of the dinosaur perhaps.

DeafStar 7th Oct 2007 10:22

I think you will find its the other way round. ALL new Q400's will go on the Sunstate AOC. Eastern will still fly some of them. No merge of AOC's in the forseeable future. No combined list on the cards either while AOC's are separate.

newsensation 7th Oct 2007 21:53

Yep all Dash 8's on SS AOC and the Jets on the Eastern AOC and no common seniority list!:D

apacau 7th Oct 2007 22:14

errm what jets?

Hugh Jarse 7th Oct 2007 22:26

Gidday Apacau. Newsensation is just yanking Deafstar's chain :}

DeafStar 8th Oct 2007 01:31

I didnt make that up. Im not trying to go fishing either. That info came from the top. I also dont agree with it but as if anyine will care seeing as everyone is going to JS or VB anyway.

Skystar320 8th Oct 2007 04:31

Dash 8-100 of Eastern just sold. could the 400 ultimate replace the -300 then the 300 to the 100/200?

newsensation 8th Oct 2007 11:42

And so the world turned...

Dash 8 100 to Jetconnect

Qantaslink firm orders for 20 CRJ900/1000 with options on another 20...
and yes on the Eastern AOC!:D:D:D
