A new Acting Director of CAA NZ
It would appear that we in NZ have run out of knowledgable aviators, ex or otherwise. to fill this position, even temporarily.
The new Director is the ex (nearly) Chief Executive and Director of Maritime New Zealand, Mr Russell Kilvington.
His main pastime recently would be sorting out near collisions with the Cook Strait ferries. Perhaps that knowledge would be of assistance in the Aviation world, and then again perhaps not.

At least he does have experience in transportation, unlike the two ( the nurse and the fisheries inspector) that preceded the retiring Director.
He is only temporary, this gives hope that we will see an experienced aviation person back at the head of CAA. Hopefully not an expedient political appointment.
