WA Pan - Fact Or Fiction?
On the Quality of GWN TV Advertising.........
Strange, but I see only positives for advertising the typical 'country' products, eg, flystrike insecticides, and ryegrass herbicides. They are eminently sensible, and target a market which has been identified as emerging through expert identification of the problem. They are not random adverts....as you'd expect for KFC and BigMac's.
To most of you, there are no aviation 'connections'....but let me explain:
(1) Flystike probably requires immediate yarding, so why not have the sheep classer out for a look at the same time? That's useful.....he flies a Cessna 182
(2) Resistant,(not rogue), ryegrass is the greatest weed challenge in southern Australia, and we spend hundreds of millions of dollars on it - yet it's still ahead of our best science. The aggie up the road with his C188, or AT-502, has a very real interest in what works on resistant ryegrass, and whether it goes through his aircraft or not
(3) Adverts for the Field Days? Great for aviation - up to 50 aircraft can turn up at Dowerin, and 30 or more at Mingenew and newdegate
(4) Ram and Stud sheep sales, Cropping Field Days, Ag Dept Field Days - All good for aviation....plenty of people aviate there
Sure, they can and do get the facts awry on news.....about the same as you see on 'city' channels I'd suggest.
But, it's a bit rich to criticise the advertising content.
As the old 80's bumper sticker said ..... don't criticise with your mouth full
happy days,

As I said earlier, tongue in cheek....
Amazing how these sorts of comments cause everyone to "squawk ident"

And attempting to keep on topic, a well done to the crew.
