$500-QF staff bonus.
Dear Geoffrey and the Qantas board ,
On behalf of the 30,000 or so "non-Exec" staff, I would like to sincerely and gratefully THANK YOU for your generous payment of $500.
Sure, its been a tough year, fuel price rises, LHR bombing , AO & JQ- Asia disappointments......but hey.......it happens!!!!
Can I also say how relieved we all are that you are staying on for another couple of years.
We all now wait in anticipation for your friend and mine Mr John Howard and the Liberals to be voted back in next year, because the $500 you have given us all ( minus the $175 os so we pay in tax! ) will be needed to help pay for our grocery bills once we are all reaping the rewards of the Work Choices legislation.
Any way Geoff, must be away now.I've got to get back to re-reading my 1970's book that I used whilst backpacking.
HOW TO SURVIVE ON $20.00 PER DAY
Warm regards to James Packer and congratulate him from all of us on PBL's record profit result this year......... wonder what he's going to pay his loyal subjects as a bonus-can I suggest a years subscription to the the Australian Womens weekly.That would put us all on par.

2(CEO and CFO) + (2 individuals' annual bonus $------) = $---- million
Can someone who has the correct figures handy fill in the blanks.It be an interesting comparison to say the least!

Of course we're getting a bonus. It wouldn't be "right" for GD and the board to take a bonus if we weren't getting one.

I would assume that as you carping whingers are so cycnical and derisive about the bonus that you cannot possibly accept it and request that Qantas instead pay it to the charity of your choice?

propaganda and hypocracy that gushes continually from GD and AJ. They smile while stabbing us in the back, fling out an insincere thankyou, while handing you a 'token' bit of loose change. My 'bonus' 
(much less NETT than the Board's 'tea lady' receives) is going straight to the deserving Salvos.

Yes $500 is better than nothing. But what gets me is GD can't put out a staff or press release without ending on a negative. He couldn't just say the staff have done well in trying times, and be done with it. He then also launches into the sky is falling retoric. Mine will be spent on a TG airfare.
