JETSTAR MAFIA REVEALED....
AJ was cornered at an aviation function recently and "advised" of Jetstars' interesting recruitment method, to which he dissmisses as "B.S. laddie"
He subsequently checks the staff CV and finds a gaggle of ex-AN boys with heaps 330/340 time have been applying for yonks with no invite to stage one.
The B.S doesn't smell like B.S anymore.
Asks the CRJ captain to "please explain?" "Oh, (he wheels around the inquiry) that would be HRs doing."
Looking for a nut... to crack AJ asks HR " EErrr..dunno, we were told to steer clear of those ex-An types, here you can check the "non-mates" list. " 'sides we makin' heaps outta charging the non-rated guys (with no international exp) for ratings."
AJ quietly sips his Guiness and ponders the future.......
Jetstar..equal opportunity for everyone, except 4 youknowwhooo!

Isn't recruiting at JQ managed by their HR boss? I think you will find that is the case. The JQ management flight operations managers are all ex AN "b" graders, nice guys but. They do not have the ba!!s to stand up to AJ, HR and JG.
Anyhow, the A330's should be flown by QF mainline guys, that would be the cheapest option seeing the type is only an interim step to the 787.

At least you were given the chance of stage 1.
Eagleman
JG is the boss, but she works from recommendation.

You know and I know and we both know that is bollocks.

JG (HR) acknowledged (over a few cheeky reds ) that there are six main groups of ex-An types;
1. Those who "may" have passed stage 1 and thus, formulated the "mates" list.
2. Those who "may" have failed, but were not on the "mates" list, hence rejected.
3. Those who passed QF induction, but not on the "mates" list, hence rejected.
4. Those who failed but were on the "mates" list, hence welcomed.
5. Those who slipped in through Jetstar Asia without doing anything!!
6. Those who will never be given the chance of even doing stage 1.

Over the next cheeky red, I was briefed by a imbibed middle-aged gent who had just been recruited (also hadn't flown for a couple of years.) He was looking forward to working for his first airline, flying his first jet and travelling overseas for the first time in his life. Nice old chap and obviously the best applicant available recently.

chocks away, whats your point? I dont see how that is relevent considering the "nopulse" guys got their job prior to qf ownership and voted on whether jetstar would be a go. The flying of the 1900 under those conditions with the lack of support implies skill to me. Not luck they were operating too long to be lucky. U seem to think a p&s test makes the pilot? pls tell me I am wrong.

It is true that a lot of experienced Airbus guys are out there and it is true that they look in disbelief at their applications being ignored .
This is the industry we are in now and these are the managers of the future.

The B team..
UNOME, mate don't sweat about not getting a call from this crowd. Be grateful that you were not part of the AN BBQ set that stood around lamenting about how they'd done their dough with the latest financial 'planner' that was flavour of the month.
Be also grateful that you weren't married to one of the ex-FA trophy wife, coffee-clatch, private school academic failure, name-dropping A-list wannabes that passed as spouses to the greatest bunch of contumelious, self-important, back-stabbing knob-tuggers that ever slithered out of the swamp. Mate do you really want to fork out $50,000 for a type rating so as you can earn peanuts and be home a couple of days a month??
If you aren't part of that "club", then you are probably an alright guy.

Be interesting to see if the first 30 "nopulse" guys on the seniority list at Jetstar that are yet to be endorsed on the Airbus actually get through with their command intact.....wait for the blood to be spilt!!
