if j* starts flying by november then it may be that AO 767's are back in QF colors, and J* takes some of the japan routes (except NRT) this would free up some of the 767 to do domestic work as they loose 4 A330-200.
The J* product would be totally unsuitable for any Japanese destination - It would simply turn Japanese tourist off coming to OZ. If AO is shut down, I can see Bali and HNL going to J* with the Japan routes going back to mainline.
The Jet* product not suitable for the Japanese market? ... So you upload 300 meals as you depart Australia and give them to the passengers for nothing... no biggie really...
If I was in charge I would use the existing AO crew to create Jet* Intl. Qantas managment already realise the crew culture is different up there (by all accounts) but they rapidly have eroded any goodwill that exists over the last 12-18 months.
