Virgin Blue Shares Slide by over 5% - whats the go?
Just noticed on the net that Virgin Blue shares have slid by over 5 % yesterday and thats after having announced a revised profit increase.
Has this anything to do with Toll's takeover bid for Patrick Corp?
What's the long term forecast?

The shares are now starting to get closer to their true value. If Toll buy Patrick, they (Toll) will sell shares back to Branson for $1.40 per share (as per the ASX website). Considering he sold out at roughly $2.00 per share, he is doing okay.
Not much consolation for the pilot's who paid $2.25 in their $50,000 allocation. That $50,000 is now worth just over $32,000.

C'mon guys give me a break and lets have some (i)intelligent(/i) comment. W

I wonder if the share price is a reflection of the markets assessment of the viability of the business in question.
Doubtfull it has little if anything to do with what a small number of staff think they think about their employer.

I think you are over the top here Woomera, I didn't say anything derogatory to any one person, it was a comment about VB which may or may not be true, it's my opionion and others can shoot me down if they wish that don't agree with my comment. Its comments like this which can stimulate others that under the normal veil of political correctness would not be moved to say anything. I feel you are over zealous with your censorship and your treating us like children, I don't think we need a nanny....

If you don't act like a child, you won't be treated like one.

So where was I acting like a child?
You would have a better chance of conveying your message to others, and to have them respect your comments, if you phrased your posts in a more mature fashion.
I hope this is helpful, and I look forward to your input in future threads.

Macrohard...Where exactly did I make reference to DJ being a great airline? I simply stated some facts and how a considerable number of pilots have lost plenty since investing in DJ.
Yes there are many pilots, if not all that are very disenchanted (and insert many other adjectives to describe the general mood). What that has to do with the authors question about share price is beyond me mate.
If you guys continuously find it necessary to denigrate, vilify and and deride individuals who work for Virgin or Jetstar, you only further enhance our opinion of your own perceived superior status. We are (or should be) all on the same team. When some of you young and extremely immature individuals wake up to that, we will all be better off.
In the mean time, let those of us serious about the future of this industry get on with the job of mending the disgusting breakdown of conditions. If you have nothing intelligent to say, may I suggest you keep your mouth's closed.

Well Bullwinkle, the thread started on the subject as to why VB's share value slid,
I said "It wouldn't be because it's a **** airline would it?"...what the heck is wrong with that...why should that be censored...that's my opinion, that's all...you can shoot me down or prove otherwise, it seems I'm not to far of the mark by some of the following comments, some of you blokes take yourselves to seriously, lighten up you need to have a laugh more.

you can shoot me down or prove otherwise
You can just make wild allegations based on what I expect is some sort of anecdotal information that you may have received from a third party who also has some personal grievance with Virgin Blue, and you offer that as evidence. And yet you still don't have proof.
A MATURE response would have been to present facts that demonstrate why Virgin Blue is not quite up to your expectations as an airline, as opposed to just making your childish comments.
I'm not really sure why I am spending so much of my time trying to help you, but I do hope that my efforts are not completely in vain, although I suspect that they may be.

I second the motion that Yorick be sent to kindergarten to play with kids of his own mental age.
You have yet to make one comment, pertaining to the subject under discussion, of any substance Yorick.
But here's a chance - WHY do you suppose VB might be considered by some to be a "sh!t airline"?
YOU made the comment, please give REASONS behind your opinion.
