Rex considers increasing Cooma flight network
The new operators of the Snowy Mountains Airport will soon hold discussions with Australia's largest independent airline on increasing the Cooma flight network.
Regional Express Airlines earlier this year started daily flights between Sydney and the Snowy Mountains, which have proved successful during the peak ski season.
The airport's general manager, Kevin Blyton, says he will talk to Rex next month concerning the possibility of introducing flights from other regional centres.
"Rex have the licence to operate from Sydney to the Snowy Mountains Airport," he said.
"We're having discussions with them, I think there's a meeting set down for late October.
"We'll discuss plans for the coming 12 months. We are looking at the introduction of services from Brisbane, Newcastle and Wollongong.
"That's what we are working on at the moment for the '06 winter season."
