Are all ATCOs members of Civil Air?
Just wondering whether anyone knows what proportion of Australian ATCOs are members of Civil Air??? I assume the vast majority would be, but are there some who aren't?

There are some who are not.
but...
Civil Air, the Australian Air Traffic Control Association represents over 1100 ATCO's (Air Traffic Controllers), TGOs (Target Generation Officers) and TFDCs (TAAATS Flight Data Coordinators) and other support specialists.
You can do the maths if you want a proportion.

I am an ATCO, Australian, and not a member of Civil Air.
Oh, and I also think that NAS is a load of crap. Is that where this is going? Everyone's just toeing a union line? It's usually weekend warriors who think it's a good idea.
In regards Civil Air; controllers tend to be members for reasons other than left-wing ideals.

Relax, mate, I'm not trying to link anyone to anything. It was not a trick question; there was no hidden agenda. I made no mention of NAS. The question is as straightforward as it appears

A fair percentage of ATC's are Civil Air members because if, God forbid, they ever need legal representation, Civil Air will provide the barristers/solicitors etc. This has changed a bit recently though, since the Civil Aviation Authority became Airservices Australia, and is now no longer a Public Service but a Government Business Enterprise. ASA is now profit, not safety driven (despite what crap you may read from them), and Civil Air is the only way ATCO's have a voice in Certified Agreements etc etc.

Who are you? What's your real name? Are you one of the people following me? Did the government send you? Which department? How many of you are there?
