Question B757 Crews for "Australian Challenge Airways"

I am surprised that NO ONE has yet made comment about this new Freighter airline that advertised for B757 crews in last Fridays 'Australian'. Come on, who's got the good juice on this one!!!!!

Question

Airline has no AOC and whacks in an advertisement for EOI (expressions of interest). How much "good juice" would you expect to get Mel LAME ?

Wink

Whoaaaa, Enema baby.......no need to smudge the make-up honey.

It's just that requests from a non-existant Company for EOI from aircrew, is a little like wannabe Airlines taking up aircraft options. Let's say, 32 A320s, 14 747-400s and a couple of A380s thrown in just to tantalise prospective investors. Another thing the EOI does, is it gives a prospective start up airline management a feel for the supply and demand of it's crew. If a whole heap of guys respond, then, like Jetstar, don't expect too much in the way of remuneration.

Apart from the above, I don't see much "good juice" being extracted from the operation on the basis of that advertisement.

Do you get my drift ?

Thanks Woomera -

OK, I stand corrected, it is a Company but I can't see too many 757 drivers in this part of the world packing bags for Oz just yet !

Dont worry about the 757 endorsement. If you have a 767 endorsement you are covered as they are a common rating. Sounds like a bodgie brothers airline to me.

B757 Crews for "Australian Challenge Airways"

http://www.payloadasia.com/Magazine...shorthauls.html

"Industry veteran Neil Hansford says he is well advanced with the launch of Australian Challenge Airways next year. The carrier will be a regional narrow body freight only airline financed in Australia and drawing on the pool of experience available from the failure of Ansett Airlines in September 2001. Australian Challenge Airways has made the pre-application for the AOC, says Australia-based Hansford, who will head up the company as CEO. Routes and frequencies are still to be finalised

Cool

JRTROUT. Your link doesn't work, or the item has been removed from the Pay Load Asia web site.

Rummaging around at that site I found this interesting item:

"Turkey-based Orex Orbit Express Airlines has leased an ex-Tradewinds A300B4-200F from US leasing company Windshear Leasing....."

Very diverse (and obviously wealthy) fellow, our Windshear!!!

Windshear of course, only the independantly wealthy can afford to work for PPRuNe on the wages Danny pays.

I don't want to cast aspersions on how professional this mob is but this is taken directly from their website. Spot the deliberate mistake?

Dissatisfaction has been expressed with the trend of this thread - possibly with regard factual information provided in two Woomera posts.

Those Woomera posts have now been removed.

The company advises: "This company is funded to the extent of $26m and has lodged a full application for a High Capacity RPT AOC which is running to schedule with CASA to issue in time for planned operations. We have paid all CASA fees and currently have nine excellent ex-Ansett senior pilots etc working on the ATC." (I presume that should be "AOC")

No doubt Australian Challenge Airways will respond to any other questions you may have.

Cool

From their web site:

AUSTRALIAN START-UP LOW COST CARRIER

Co-ordinating the European fund raising and equipment acquisition for an exciting new 'no frills' domestic jet carrier.

Are we talking yet another low cost start up?

From 'that' website

SAS will carry out traffic analysis; Revenue and Route analysis; Equipment recommendation and - if required - sourcing and purchase/lease negotiations; lease negotiations and recommendations; Hull and liability insurance recommendation and - if required - negotiation; engineering (heavy and line) plus spares and rotatable support recommendation and negotiation.
I think someone else may already have the copyright on those initials!
