Aussie Ryanair
Not trying to start anything here (yeh right ) but I heard mention, on TV news recently, of RyanAir entering the Australian market.
Did anyone else see or hear this?
I knew they were looking some time back but was there a launch planned, as I didn't cop all the clip?

Chocks Away
I think you will find that what you heard was that Ryanair has taken a stake in Singapore Airlines new low cost start up “Tiger (Balm) Airways” which is to start later this year. They will also have a prominent position in the management of the new airline. As for the new airline operating in the Australian market? That won’t be happening. They may operate flights to Darwin but that’s about it.

Thanks 404,
I knew Tiger had grabbed the Ryanair (ex) head-cheese/founder, who had gone out on his own to create a Fianancial support Company, for such Low-cost start-ups.
The Asian scene is boiling, I must say but this was specific to Aust ops. Flatmate also confirmed hearing it.
Thanks again.
