Hi everyone! Halfway thourgh the hiring process with GANS. Because I'm new here, could someone send me a pm about he package they offer for approach controllers? Many thanks.
|
The salary package has been adjusted downward at the time I left GANS. So will not be in a position to help you. It is still way above average than any other job in the UAE

Sit tight
I would sit tight and wait for the packages increase. UAE are all **** packages at the moment considering the cost of living. Especially if you have kids in school age.
The polish guy that just resigned from DXB tower after completing his initial training due to “it just not worth it” is testament to the current state of affairs. |
Hi Somewhere in time,
do you actually know the packages in UAE and other countries in Middle East ? Are GANS and DANS/Serco so different in working conditions / management / salaries ? thanks so much in advance for your reply.

I saw somewhere that Ras Al Khaimah were recruiting. Is it just as bad as everywhere else in that area at the moment?

At the moment they are desperate and will take anyone with some decent experience. AUH/DXB used to have a big pile of CVs they could choose from but that has completely dried up to a point where they are recalling people thay have previously failed the application process

I always thought ANSPs in the ME had tons of money to spare, but it seems they are getting stingy and conditions are actually worse than at most ANSPs in Europe, taking into account the (artificially) high cost of living in the ME. Money will not go to ATCOs pockets but to landlord's pockets... |

It does not sound like a great plan haha

Yes there is no incometax as such but everything you buy/sell/trade is severely taxed one way or the other. Travel in and out of the region has also become ridiculously expensive for people that live there. |

Hello everyone.
I'm looking to possibly relocate to the ME. However I do worry my current experience would not qualify me for any testing at all, what are your thoughts? TWR ATCO ADI/APS with crossing runways topped out at 22000 movements a year. 8-10 years experience. Is there a chance to be called for testing? |
Can't be long before a 2008-esque pay rise gets thrown at Dubai I should imagine. I was approached by a jobhunter for Dubai recently and when I asked what the package was, it was almost exactly the same as it was when I left 10 years ago. Not sure why they can't work out why they're struggling to recruit when many other parts of the world are pulling away with their Ts and Cs.

DFS-AS DXB/DWC
DAS (DFS Aviation Sevices, former Tower Company) providing ANS personnel from 2025 on. They’re looking for TWR/APP personnel here

What was the package and what do they actually mean in the ad where they require experience from "a major international airport". Do they ever consider/test candidates from lower traffic volume TWR?
Maybe you can DM me if you dont want to post it here. |

They claim "a major international airport" is at least 600 movements per day. It is quite a high bar, as there are many good controlles who have succeeded for DXB coming from much less movements environment . To me personally, movement does not equal complexity.

600 movements per day is quite excessive, but I guess they have to set some kind of bar. I come from a quite low movement TWR but want to try and apply i wonder what my changes are. We'll see I guess.
