About a month after I applied, I moved house. Does anyone know what the best way is to change my address on the application in case they send anything by post? Or do NATS not send anything by post?

Kimmikins 6th November 2012 09:51

They don't send anything by post during the application process, but when you receive email invitations to the various stages they list the contact details they have for oyu on the bottom. They give you a number or email to use if they aren't correct. I think it's the bog standard HR one though, so it might be worth sending an email to them with as much detail as possible; your name, DOB, when you applied etc and informing them of your change of address.

@Yakutake

Sorry to hear you didn't get through. Myself and two others from our day (6th Sept) attended stage 3 this week, but no success either. The last two months have been the longest in a while, time to move on for a while. But I hope to see you in 12 months to do it all again!

I know this is a bit off topic but for anyone who has doubts , is unsure about when exactly you can reapply , I called HR and asked . There must be a 12 month gap between the ON-LINE basic checking test you get sent via e-mail . So not between last apply date , stage 1 etc . 12 month between online test and the day you reapply . 1 september 2013 HERE I COME !!

Made it!!

Hi everyone, good luck with all your applications. I got the call on Monday to say I passed stage 3 so i'm on the November course :) Have no time to sort myself out and get ready though! Anyone else starting in November please message me :ok:

sorinc03 8th November 2012 09:30

@lobster111 Did you get asked when you'd prefer to start? My flat's rented until March so if I did get to pass Stage 3, I wouldn't be able to start until the March/April course (otherwise I'd lose a lot of money on the rent).

PhiltheReaper 8th November 2012 15:58

sorinc03: They do ask when you would be availible to start at Stage 3 :)

Lobster100: when did you sit your Stage 3 out of interest? Well done for getting through!

Phil

lobster100 8th November 2012 21:43

They said I pretty much had to start in November but if you have a good reason for not starting then pretty sure they're ok with that. I didn't have a good reason other than having more time to sort things out.

Sat stage 3 last Friday the 1st but I only heard back so quickly as they're trying to fill the November course. They told me at stage 3 that replies are being sent within 30 working days at the minute. They have had 20,000 applicants since September so are a bit overrun at the minute, don't be too worried if it takes them a while to get back to you.

PhiltheReaper 9th November 2012 10:53

Lobster: That's a really fast turn around, good luck on the November Course. I suppose then that NATS taking their time over contacting me can only really mean either I wasn't successful, or perhaps I was quite marginal and they are deciding if they should put me on a future course or not. It is dangerous to speculate, but it seems unlikely to me that they want me in November now. I am actively trying to get hold of HR to see if they can shed some light for me. I'll let you guys here know if I am able to find anything more about the process.

Phil

The best of luck with that still Phil, and remember that if it's a yes the wait is well worth (at least I think so) :)

20 000 applicants since September is just insane, that's several hundred a day! In fact that's as if more than half of my home town would apply, mind boggling if you ask me!

Start Date

@sorinc03; I have passed stage 3 but because of work have to serve a very long notice period and NATS were fine with that. I think as long as you pass and have a valid reason then they will fit you into the approriate course.

So ive been looking over these forums eagerly awaiting my response and yesterday finally received it.

Last wednesday i applied online with a confirmation and invite to the online segment the following day. I then completed that online test within 48 hours and yesterday received my invite to the stage 1 test (i believe i may be quite a bit back compared to anyone else) however i will be attending on the 21st month is anyone else going to be there at all.

Having only a week im now getting ready as much as possible im studying the document trying to remember as much as possible in regards to the planes themselves and i've brushed up on my time/speed/distance equations - from what ive read these equations are very basic and of a GCSE level.

Cubes and the diagramming im struggling to find any examples or online practice though i timed myself on the initial 5 on the email and managed to do them in 2 minutes. Does anyone have any decent revision example sites at all?

Im excited to be taking part though and i hope i can progress into this career choice.

Im really hammering home this revision though im a first time applier and there seems to be a general feeling that only reapplications go through i hope i can break this cycle.

i'll also be polishing up on my euro geo and distances as these questions appear to come up though not mentioned in the original document.

Hope everyone is well and congrats to everyone who has been accepted this far.

lobster100 10th November 2012 19:23

@aaabbbccc Good luck with your application. Don't think you won't get through on your first application. I was a first time applicant and made it through. Just do your best, the only advantage to second time applicants is that they've been through the process before so know what to expect. It sounds like you're well prepared so you should be fine. :)

aaabbbccc 11th November 2012 00:02

@lobster100 thanks for the response i appreciate that and congrats on your success hopefully i can say i will be joining you very soon. ive recently finished university so i feel very comfortable in test situations and revision. im trying to find a good cubes practice site and the diagramming is something that you will only see on the day i cant imagine finding practice examples online. ill keep the updates on here as is everyone else and keep pushing forwards.

Stage 2 collision avoidance test

I'm using SkyTest to prepare for the stage 2 feast test and such. I remember reading somewhere that the collision avoidance test (the one with planes going towards each other and solving math at the same time) has been removed from stage 2 and that it wasn't important anyway. Is that true?

sambatc 16th November 2012 07:45

pretty quiet on here at the moment eh....

I have my Stage 1 (take 2) booked for Monday 26th. Excited to be finally allowed back in to the application process.

Eren_Taner 16th November 2012 12:28

Had stage 3 yesterday. Difficult to tell how it went but I'll be patiently waiting for the results.
Good luck to the other applicants.

ATC Test fareham

Hi,

I just joined after applying a few weeks ago.

aaabbbccc, I've got my tests on 21st too. Mine are between 14:00-16:00, I'm going down to Southampton on the Tuesday to stay over so I'm fresh for the morning. Been reading the NATS ATC doc whenever I get a free second.

What time are your tests?

A question to others......Just curious, how many candidates on average are in each session?

Good luck to anyone taking theirs soon.

Marc
