Hi there..could anyone give me an exaple of math quiz that we could find in the stage1? I know, maybe in this discussion i could find the answer..but that are a lot of pages..thank you very much!

planenut321 28th November 2012 14:27

Just got my result from stage 1... on to stage 2 I go :ok:

When I go to book for Stage 2 they only give me next tuesday... If I wait will they bring more dates out?

Inertia 28th November 2012 14:33

Congrats Planenut!!!
Just got my email through too, Stage 2 here I come. I think they do put more dates on when they are available. Best of luck!

sorinc03 28th November 2012 14:42

@planenut321 yeah, they'll post more dates later. But if you have time to go, you might as well go next Tuesday. There's no preparation needed for Stage 2 so you might as well try and get to stage 3 before Christmas :)

ATChopeful 28th November 2012 16:16

Well done guys, I just got stage 2 invite through too. I hope they put up more dates as well, going to be difficult to explain to my current work I can't go to a conference as I have a job interview... :ooh:

Stage 1

Hi guys,
Well done to inertia and planut. I was up same day but I'm guessing that's all the passes out and the fails follow??? Still awaiting mine. Is that how it works or can someone say that they got a pass later from the guys that attended the same day?? Hope so.

December Stage 1

Hi all,

I took the online checking test last night and received the invite this morning to attend the Stage 1 assessment in Fareham :) I've booked to go at 13.30 on Tues 4th December and am wondering if anyone else on here will be at the same session?

biturbo 28th November 2012 18:18

I was going to continue lurking until I got through to stage 2, but highly doubt I'll get there now. :{

I spent more time concentrating on correct answers rather than ensuring I completed as many as possible - I only completed 28/50 and 31/40 although on the first paper im 99% sure they are all right, and 80% sure on the second.

I just hope they want a certain percentage of only the questions answered correct rather than a certain percentage of the whole test.

I was thinking accuracy rather than speed would be a better skill being in this line of work - can any ATCO's confirm?

Also, has anyone who made it to stage two done so with a low number of questions answered?

Thanks, Tony

Hi all,

can you please explain me in what consist thes Stage1? Which kind of quiz are there?

Thank you very much!

Jimbothegreatest 29th November 2012 05:50

Got my results and I'm through to stage 2. Congrats to all the others who made it. Unlucky to those who didn't, and better luck next time. For those who have had no news yet - don't panic! Your results will come soon I'm sure.

Well this Tuesday (4th) is slightly short notice for me. Does anyone know when the next bunch of dates will be? I don't really want to cancel everything and rush down there next week, but I'd rather not hang around til January either.

Assi... have you applied? Have you passed your online tests? If so, they provide all the information in the email they send you telling you to book for Stage 1...

Assi 29th November 2012 09:54

Hi Jimbo..yes i've applied and i've passed the on line test..but in the email they don't speak about math in the stage1..but i, reading the forum, understand that i will find math quiz as well...right?

sambatc 29th November 2012 10:08

they tell you to practice speed, distance and time calculations, as well as headings and bearings (i.e. the 360' of the compass)

Stage 2

I just heard back from NATS. I failed Stage 2 :ugh:

PhiltheReaper 29th November 2012 11:49

Sorry to hear that sorinc3, will you re-apply?

I am waiting on my new Stage 1 result still. I am hopeful to get to a December Stage 2 if possible though :) Fingers crossed eh?

Assi, trust the system mate, they tell you all you need to know, and this thread tells you far more besides that if you read the last 50 pages or so.

Phil

sorinc03 29th November 2012 12:07

Hi Phil,
Yeah I'll probably reapply next year.

It's unfortunate that we don't find out why we failed and what to work on. But at least we have the experience :)

Has anyone who did there stage one on Monday the 26th had there results back yet?
So nervous waiting, and panic every time an email comes through lol.

d19err 29th November 2012 17:46

Hi

I sat mine on 21st and spoke to them today. All successful candidate have been notified and unsuccessful ones have to follow. Sadly that's me.

Any one want to buy a sky test disc? Offers cost about £40
