Safeskys still advertising a vacancy at North Denes. It says APC as well as ADI, but they might take you with just ADI. They have been known to send people from North Denes on APC courses.
Edit: Just discovered Safeskys have vacancies also for 'an island off the UK mainland', looking for SATCO and ATCOs preferably with ADI/APP/OJTI/Met Obs. same as at North DenesSafeSkys Air Traffic Control Services, Air Traffic Control Engineering, Bird Control & Wildlife Management |
Would that be st mary's>>isles of scilly per chance??
|
Your guess is as good as mine! Unlikely to be Isle of Man or Isle of Wight after all.
|
Still searchig.

Perhaps unsuitable for someone just starting out in ATC, but on the theme of vacancies, there's a new SATCO position going at Wick, with HIAL.
Re: your search - keep going. Write to the smaller airfields, work as an assistant to begin with. Anything to get your foot in the door. Keep an eye on the Serco site too - occasional things crop up there too. Best of luck. |
Yes, I´m trying, I´ve applied for ATCA positions in Serco dozens of times but never been successful, and never had an answer why.
However I´ve reapplied in the position now opened. I´m also thinking about working in other countries, does anyone know the possibilities of working in any english or spanish talking country? |
Try Eurocontrol Maastricht. They are recruiting new ab-initios starting next year, you meet the age requirements (max. 25) and they pay your training and a salary on top, not like you had to do in Spain. Selection process and training is hard to get through like in many other ANSPs but you'll never know if you don't try. Also, for your integration to be easier, several spanish controllers are working there as well , among many nationalities, you don't really feel like an expat as most of the staff there are from outside the NL too. Good luck.

Need a position in anything related to ATC
I'm sure FerroNATS might be interested. T&Cs are pretty awful though

Scatsta are recruiting at the moment (Serco).
As are Humberside, for an ATSA position (though temporary, I am led to believe). |
Hi,
Im about to graduate in a month and as there are no positions available here. I would like to know if any ACC, TWR, or RAD -unit in Europe or Middle east are recruiting qualified controllers. If every thing goes as planned I would be having ADI/TWR/RAD, APS/RAD and ACS/RAD ratings. So if any of you have some ideas where to apply, I would be grateful. I´m ready to go abroad to broaden my horizons and to get good experience in air traffic control. |
Hey, up there in Finland, are you doing all three ratings at once? And do you validate all those three at operational units?
|
Hi,
Actually we were supposed to have only ADI/TWR/RAD and APS/RAD before we graduate but surprisingly our course had a chance to get the basic training for ACS/RAD also. Altough ACS/RAD course doesn't include any OJT part or unit training. So we are just getting the rating. For the ADI/TWR/RAD and APS/RAD part we did OJT in different airports in Finland and got the validated licences to that unit we were training. |
So why didn't those unit employ you afterwards? Why put someone through a training plan and validate them and then chop them?
|
Thats mainly because of slight oversupply on qualified ATCO's in here and units are not recruiting.
|
Wow, and that is really cost ineffective! ;-)

Eurocontrol won´t accept me, because in October 2015, I'd be 25 years old and 1 week -.-`` Still searching.
|
I don't understand how euro control continue to get away with this policy.
Surely it is completely against all EU anti discrimination legislation. |
Maybe it just needs someone to challenge the policy? Whats the worst that could happen?

Still searching

I have also been that SIM Pilots are required in the Middle East. Does anyone know where can I apply or who do I contact? You can PM, if you wish.

NewAge., I don't mean to put a downer on your aspirations but you've been looking for a job and seeking help from people on this board for quite some time. In this time, I don't recall you getting shortlisted - I might be wrong, and I'm not going to go through all the posts again. You might want to look at what you are offering and how you are presenting yourself. To break into and get on in any career depends not just on what paperwork you have but also - and sometimes far more importantly - how you present yourself and what reputation precedes you. Aviation is not a forgiving business - to get on you need more than just licences but certain attitudes, behaviours and other personal characteristics. If you have these characteristics, you need to get them across when applying for a job. This might mean contacting the organisation that has the opportunity to sound out what they are looking for - so you can tailor your application. And to follow up your written application with a phone call so that your name gets remembered (but for the right reason). If you can, try to get some feedback on your current approach and be prepared to accept any unwanted comments constructively and learn from it - it's something that you'll benefit from in this business....and many others. |

Eurocontrol is hiring again... entry positions. Try there.
|
I can´t apply as I'll be 25 by the end of September 2015 and the age limit is "25 years of age at 01 October 2015". I already e-mailed, and they said there could do no exception.

Irish Aviation Authority is currently inviting applications for consideration for April and October intakes apparently. Might be worth a look?

Thats all well and good if you can go for 16 months without any pay or help wth accomodation allowance for no guaranteed job at the end of it. I'm not really sure how the IAA get people to sign up for that.
